Don't waste your energy. These Americans will never forgive Joe for demystifying their "legend".Prime Hopkins would beat joe? bull **** Prime Hopkins was beating on blown up WW. Your right TS Joe would have handled Hopkins who fought the perfect fight he could against joe (aka holding, being a dirty ****) and still LOST!!
Joe would probably be some ATG for beating on the likes of HOoya and Trinidad too

Calzaghe won a controversial dec against a 43 year old Hopkins. Many people thought Hopkins did enough to win. that's at 43 years old.
Nevermind at 33.Comment

Not sure that is true. The reverse is also possible. Joe would have had a very difficult time with a prime Hopkins, id give BHop the edge.
Joe should really be thankful that RJJ didnt want to stay at 168 and clean out the whole division, or we probably wouldnt even be talking about him right now.Comment

Calzaghe has very underrated speed even at smw RJJ would have found Calzaghe's speed a huge problem. At 160 if the arguably slower Roy managed to get in and out against Hop without taking damage then JC would've completely schooled him worse than he did in their 175 fight when Joe was blown up and old.Not sure that is true. The reverse is also possible. Joe would have had a very difficult time with a prime Hopkins, id give BHop the edge.

Aged well for a boxer, yes, but compared to his actual prime...he was on the decline for a long time. His stamina especially which is why he started to pace himself and take off rounds...which was a big factor in the Calzaghe fight let alone in the Taylor fights.
For TS: IF Joe could have been a MW, he would have but he was to big for MW. While Joe wanted Hopkins to move up from MW to SMW to fight him years ago, it's funny Joe couldn't do the same with moving up to fight a PRIME Roy Jones Jr.
Joe and Bernard both wanted their legacies set in their divisions and wouldn't budge which is why the fights didn't happen years ago.
A Prime Hopkins vs. a Prime Calzaghe would have been a great matchup and more exciting than what we saw. How the hell anyone sees that version of Hopkins as anywhere near his prime is beyond me. For his win over Pavlik...that just says something about Pavlik.
Go back before Tito to see a Prime Hopkins.Comment
