Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Usyk Brave, Strong, But Tyson Fury Is The Best Heavyweight Of His Generation

Frank Warren obviously wouldn't pick against Tyson Fury, yet he is especially confident that the heavyweight champion he co-promotes will handle Oleksandr Usyk in their title unification fight.

Basic analysis from Warren. Usyk is way more than just "brave" and "strong".

Usyk is very good at making fighters fight his fight , Tyson won't fall for this . He will go in for him with spiteful body shots and then rag doll him at every opportunity.Usyk will do very well to last the distance.

I am rooting for Usyk, but I imagine he would have to constantly be in motion to eek out a decision.

Usyk and his manager are relying on this being a technical fight where Usyk might give Fury a tough time or even fancy his chances. I believe it will be anything but technical. Fury will fight dirty when he has to, clinch to put his weight on Usyk when he has to, or fight from a distance with jabs and show-off. If Usyks maintains a distance, he loses on point and if he closes the gap more often, Fury might win by KO somewhere in the 3rd quarter of the fight.

Also, Fury is the cash cow for everyone. If Fury were to hit Usyk the way Dubois did, he would probably get away with it. If the fight is 50-50, Fury probably gets the win.

No need to see them fight really. Frank has called it.

Fury is the obvious favorite and always has been. The man TOWERS over Usyk and has good sills, more power, and can adjust well to his opponent. Fury will look to maul and cut off the ring against Usyk and wear down the taller man.

But this idea that somehow Usyk was exposed by Dubois landing that shot is silly. Usyk and his team are among the best preparers on the planet. They will correct what happen there and if Fury and his team try to exploit it Usyk will grin as he counter punches and moves effortlessly away.

Both these men are street smart, technically sound, totally fearless warriors. Both undefeated, both have faced adversity, both have fought all kinds of different style boxers. It is kind of a shame one of them has to lose as I personally think the division is better off with both of them at the top of their game.
