Haney beat a prime Linares, an undefeated Champion Kambosas coming off a victory over Teofimo, in Australia, and a former champion in Lomanchenko. Who has a better resume at Lightweight?

Prior to the catchweight, Garcia was fighting at 140. By my calculations that's 4 pounds, plus the rehydration clause that left him weaker and smaller than he was at 135, some 2 years before....lol

I think you're right - so why won't he relinquish the belts? - give Shakur, Martin, Tank, Zepeda, a chance to fight for them

The answer is embedded in the news article:

If a showdown against Davis has any shot at coming to fruition, Haney has made it clear that Davis will have to make a second trip to 140 pounds. At 135, many will point to Haney’s IBF, WBC, WBO, and WBA titles as a bargaining chip in negotiations. The 24-year-old, nevertheless, simply doesn't believe that he’s lost any leverage now that he’s beltless.

Only casuals n fanbois care about Davis. He doesn't fight his top contemporaries, he uses catchweights, and rehydration clauses on opps and could care less about his legacy....

Tank is barely making 135. We all know he dont want to fight Haney at 135 , UNLESS Devin agrees to a “dehydration clause”. You can forget tank getting in there with Devin at 140. You can also can forget tank getting in there with Loma at 135. You can also forget tank getting in there with Shakur at 135 and don’t get me started on him avoided Teo at 140.
Scank is going to fight a so dangerous guy like Pittbull or Garcia again LOL. What a fooken joke he is. He’s the main reason why boxing platforms are quitting boxing.

Except everyone knows he lost. Including Haney and his dad, who looked despondent before the cards were read.

I mean I don't give a damn about Haney. He is boring as hell, arrogant and has no power. Loma is exciting and has great skill.

Just like Taylor should have rematched Catterall, who beat him, Haney should have immediately asked for a rematch. Just like Taylor, Haney is seen as a total clown now by most.

But whatever. It's why boxing is a third tier sport now.

The guy looks like a welterweight. Seems senseless to force him to drain himself again.
He made lots of money for a young person. So money will not be his primary motivation
in a Tank fight. I don't think he would gaf if it doesn't happen.

If he's not coming down to fight at 135 then the belts won't be available to the winner of a fight at 140. So how are the belts a bargaining chip? Am I missing something?
