He's fighting an opponent from two weight classes below. That's fighting a smaller fighter whether you want to acknowledge it or not. Facts.

This 36 hour weigh-in before the event is diluting the competition. Who cares if they weigh 167, when they could weigh ten to 15 more pounds when they fight?

Oh my who knew a 5'11 fighter shrinking down to 154 would weigh higher at 168 since he didn't have to cut the weight. Deep gasp ooooooo boi!

Alvarez came to prominence at 147 pounds 'Alvarez is not a monster at 160 or even 168 pounds'.

I think in comparison to Charlo, Alvarez has deliberately trained to gain mass at times 'Charlo has not throughout his career'.

I think in terms if weight, they are different body types but 'Both fighters really in this modern era, are more naturally 160-168 pound fighters'.

If there was no day before weigh in, Charlo would be a 160-168 pound fighter etc.

Both are undisputed belt holders. Both got (a) brother(s) that box. I think all this similar sh^t is saying the bet is a draw. A $50k bet on a draw gets you just shy of a millie back.

Charlo looks physically small. Clenelo looks bigger and ripped.

No, he came to prominence at 150 pounds, his last fight at 147 was in 2010, and he had a few fight between 2005-2010 over the ww limit. From 15 yo to 20 years old he fought at 147, also his first 4 fights were at 140. Remember his first belt he brought an unknown ww up to jmw, witj a catchweight and canelo missed the weight.

People don’t seem to understand how weight draining works. Both these fighters have historically gained an advantage by their ability to drain their asses down to 154. Canelo said no mas and started campaigning at 160 and then 168 while Charlo stayed behind and killed himself keep draining and unify the division that Canelo, brother Jermall, Lara and Boo Boo left behind for him.
Both these fighters are at their comfortable weight for this stage in their careers. The biggest advantage goes to Canelo for having made the move sooner and gained the experience and time to adjust to the training regiment.
