Comments Thread For: Jermell Charlo Weighs In At Career-High 167.4 Pounds, Same As Canelo Alvarez, For Title Fight

It is a spectacle and part of the whole event. If you go to the fight site it gives you something else to do and get hyped for the fight. I am just interested in if they make weight. They almost never look the same at the weigh in as they do at fight night.Comment

The weigh in being behind closed doors with a fake one later on is ridiculous -- and, I suspect, more vulnerable to some kind of fraud. The weigh in should be transaprent and open to public scrutiny. Multiple neutral witnesses should be able to observe that the fighters actually are at the correct weight... and it should be closer to the time of the fight. They're now doing it around a day and a half ahead of the fight.

I get it for casuals obv, but I don't get it for hardcore fans that get more into how guys look at the real weigh in. Personally for me I have lil desire to see a fake weigh in.Comment

He basically weighed in at his fight night weight when he's fighting at 154, that's all. You thought he was gonna come in at 154 for a super middleweight bout?Comment
