It's good Zhang enjoying his moment in spotlight. For a long time he was criminally underated, no-one would've predicted Zhang to reach these heights.?
Forr a long time he was seen as a man with talent, but not predicted to go all the way. Harsher critics would've said he was a big lumbering stiff.

Agree. One fight that Id pay to see is Zhilei Zhang standing across the ring at any of those harsh critics.

Takes a lot the be a top athlete in a global sport.
It takes all that and a whole lot more in boxing.

Yes, I think people realised he was talented being an.olympian and all that. But the talk was always about his age and he'd turned pro too late and better get a move on. Quite dismissive really.

Fury and Usyk are clearly still top 2.

I think Zhang can reasonably be considered 4th.

I've always advocated that you don't go past fighters by beating lesser ranked fighters, but ranking Wilder and Joshua is getting tricky now. Wilder hasn't had any kind of win worth considering in 4 years. Joshua, 3 years. Joshua should be above Wilder in my view but they both sit 5 and 6. Only Hrgovic and Zhang have done enough to go past them by beating decent opponents.

Zhang has two good wins in his last two. Hrgovic beat Zhang in a fight that didn't look anything special at the time but now looks like a very good win. He can't be below Zhang on that basis.

After that maybe comes Ruiz at 7. He had a decent win a year ago, though Ortiz has looked finished for a while now.

After Ruiz it becomes a case of 'who cares?'. Plenty of contenders for those spots and no-one doing anything to take them. I'll probably put Whyte, Joyce and Ortiz there simply because they at least took on big fights and lost to ranked fighters... while the guys trying to come past them don't deserve to move ahead without fighting at top 10 level (or not fighting at all).

Still waiting for this division to blow up. They're all getting on in age. If they don't start fighting each other soon we're going to have the top end of the division all retire at similar times.

Top 4 H2H HW at the moment.

                1- Fury
                2- Zhang/Wilder
                3- Zhang/Wilder
                4- Hrgovic

Wilder vs Zhang would be helluva fight. Hrgovic rematch might be different this time as well.
                1. Usyk
                2. Fury
                3.Hrgovic
                4.Zhang

Hrgovic beat Zhang, so in any rational ranking list, he has to be placed higher. And he did beat him, legit. What definitely was not legit was the "knockdown" Zhang was credited with in the first round. That was a punch to the back of the head combined with a push that sent Hrgovic down. The first round should have been scored 10-9 Hrgovic, not 10-8 Zhang.

And after seeing the effect Zhang's punches had on Joyce, Hrgovic has the best chin in the HW division.

nah 80% had Zhang winning that fight. Hrgo was hurt and dropped. he did nothing to Zhang.

Usyk was also KOed in his last fight.

100% of the judges plus me had Hrgovic winning that fight.

Zhang was also disqualified for punching Hrgovic on the back of the head and pushing him down.

once again, i don't rate corruption. Zhang won. Hrgo himself never complained about the KD. he knows it was legal.
