I guess no one on this thread has seen Joyce fight before Zhang. He was WAY LIGHTER for that fight than he had ever been before. And he lost. Now, I have zero idea if the heavier frame makes a difference, but he tried something new and it backfired. Him reverting back to what he knows is smart. Stamina is not a problem with Joyce- never has been. Will not be in this fight based on anything he has ever done ever in the ring.

So if Zhang wins, it will be because he fought a near perfect fight like he did the first time with little to no real improvement from Joyce. If that is how you see it, I get it. Joyce is the one with something to prove here. But I just see a motivated, high level fighter who is out to prove that one fight does not make him a flawed fighter despite the recency bias. I got Joyce by late round KO in a get better performance.

The same reason Fury came in 270 plus or so against Wilder from 250 something and absolutely battered him .literally had Wilder complaining about cheating bc the weight difference after which was another good one . Lol

Zhang has unusually quick hands for a man built as big as he is. Joyce coming in heavier is not going to stop that... Same result again, Zhang won't be able to miss the backhand and southpaw right hook.

Zhang doesn't have the best stamina and him coming in heavier is a worry if this fight ever makes it to the later rounds.

Zhang if it is over within 6 rounds
Joyce if it goes later than 6 rounds without Joyce being seriously hurt

Joyce says this is his walk around weight which TBF is exactly what I expect him to do.

gassed and got knocked out. but he did pack more power as he knocked down Fury twice in a few rounds.
Rahman/Tua 2… Rahman was 230 for first fight & it was a BS stoppage but he came into 2nd fight 260 & said he wanted more weight to handle the left hook Tua threw. HBO larry merchant said he just didnt train hard. The result was a BS draw that Rahman clearly won but at 260 he threw about 80 punches a round. The weight was not an issue at all & he took all Tua’s punches well.

Don't see the issue with this. Joyce needs to trundle forward and make dents in Zhang.

It isn't like he can avoid eating a load of left hands from Zhang. He's going to wear plenty.

For that 3rd fight I was hoping Wilder would be back down to 212-215 like the first fight. At that weight he would have had better stamina & speed. Sure the weight difference would have been huge but Wilder was at his best at that weight. He was too big (230s) in fight 2 & 3. Still had chicken legs. I wanted to see 278 Fury vs 212-215 Wilder. No one knows how it would have went if Wilder was faster, better conditioned & more elusive. Everything else is opinion only.
