Comments Thread For: Zhang, Joyce Provide Tonic for Heavyweight in 2023

By Cliff Rold - Despite the multitude of kudos 2023 has earned in boxing, the biggest caveat has come from the biggest men. Tyson Fury found a way to make a presumably large check without having to do any serious boxing. Anthony Joshua engaged in get-right action after consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk while Usyk, outside one controversial round, made easy work of a mandatory in over his head. Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz? Absent. Dillian Whyte? Out of a Joshua rematch due to a failed PED test.

"Dumpster Fire in 2023" ? better check the track record of HW's for the past several years even the guys you spoke of are not what it was at Heavy or even close, we the fight fans have been fed a lotta garbage the past several years at HW...... More hype and holler then has been present in all the other weight classes combined and that is a lot to date. That is why a few guys from somewhere far away from these United States are getting noticed. This is not filler this is the facts of HW divsion at the moment. What wait on Fury? give me a break then what did you call what Josh did in the ring past year bounce back ? Whatever wait on him and be a fool same with Tie-Some what a joke there too. Why does a former Cruiser hold the belts ? bc of what i just began to point out. Imagine that.......

    Imagine there's no heavyweights
    it's easy enough to do....

    NO challengers below us
    Above us only clowns....

Atop the devison nothing but lies n liars..........
you may say i am a casual..

but i am not the only one.....

I hope someday you will see the truth in it...

And the Heavy Weight divsion will unify as one.....

            The Walrus has spoken.
I say, let's go full throttle old school and do away with weight divisions entirely. See who rises to the top.

At this point, if we expect more than one real HW fight every 18 months, that is on us and we deserve to be hurt.

US heavyweight athletes feel they'd be better off to wear a helmet and pads or even bounce a ball.

While I agree that the HW division is in shambles for the most part, I really like Zhang. I don't know, I typically root for fighters like Zhang who are in it past the age of 40 and can still **** despite the danger their age represents. Fair play to Joyce as well, who is pushing that dangerous number himself. Looking forward to this rematch.

The division is sh.it, but I am looking forward this fight. I wonder who will land first and if Joyce can do anything different.
