The top 4 heavyweights sure wrecked this era…

It doesn’t matter who is at fault for the fights not happening but they have let the fans down.
Greed is the main culprit! Each of the top 4 guys have only fought 1 of the other top 4. Fury fought Wilder & Usyk fought Joshua. Wilder is 37, Usyk 36, Fury 35 & Joshua 34… Lennox was done at 38 but he fought everyone! These big fights are past their best dates. This era had so much potential but GREED by the fighters & promoters ruined what could have been. They could have all fought each other & walked away with even more than what they have now.

The 4 belt era is another culprit. Promoters would rather milk a beltholder than actually risk them losing their title & the sanctioning bodies corruption favouring certain fighters & promoters.

Some of the blame can even be directed towards the fans. Too much emphasis on a fighter losing his “0”. A guy loses a couple of fights & he is exposed, a bum or overrated. That hasn’t helped a fighter’s marketing ability. I have accepted that there may never be another undisputed champion.

I started watching HW boxing in the Tyson era so Ali was before my time. During my era as a fan the 90s were hands down the best. 3 belts but everyone fought each other & many times more than once. I never used to miss a fight but now i am so far behind on all the recent HW fights & have started to lose interest. When HBO & FNF ended I think that is when things really started to decline. American HWs got regular exposure on those telecasts. Not into paying for sport streaming services. I just try to watch replays on youtube when possible.

Fighters should NOT be allowed to swerve fights. They should be forced to fight other top fighters or they should lose their ranking and belts. Can an NBA team MLB team or a NHL team choose which team that they have to face and time frame in which they have to face them? Boxing is a sport of entitled elitists, for those at the top of the sport. There should be NO favouritism at all. Boxing is a big Schitt Show.

Lennox did not fight Bowe. Tyson did not fight Bowe. Lewis Tyson fought 7 years after they were meant to cause in 96 Lewis was paid 5m by Tyson not to enforce his mando. So how is it much different?

You had undisputed cruiserweight holyfield come up and fight lewis and tyson

You got undisputed cruiserweight Usyk come up and fught AJ, and you will see him fight Fury soon, i know a lot of you think no but Saudi aint sign Usyk for him to keep fighting mandos they want the Fury fight. And now this new Saudi powerhouse who is running Ngannou Fury come through. You will see Fury Usyk after Ngannou

Sure all fights were not at their best time but everyone fought each other to try & get that Holyfield, Tyson or Lewis payday. Not every fight got made but it is hard to argue that era had a lot more contenders fighting each other. I’m hoping we get to see these fights made especially Fury/Usyk. I see you point to the comparison but how often do we see the other contenders outside the top 4 fight each other? Not enough in my opinion.

Lewis didn’t fight everyone he never fought Bowe his biggest rival when that went past its dates .

Lewis didn’t unify almost a decade into his career and fought easy touches here and there . If Joshua did that ,we’ll be did he fought Franklin who everyone said beat Whyte anyway and you saw the reaction on here even though Franklin is not a washed out fighter with tons of losses unlike the rest fight .

Bowe wanted 85% of the pot or close to it I think to fight Lewis so you can’t actually talk about greed here .

The top guys of the 90”s ended up being Lewis , .Holyfield and Mike Tyson who all fought each other at tail end of their careers ,is this one much different ? Well I’d say these guys are operating closer to their primes ,Usyk is a better fighter then Wilder ..Joshua fought that guy twice . In fact it’s down to Fury and if he fights either Joshua or .Usyk which he clearly has little interest in from the beginning. The sole blame is greed but only one man is doing it ,we know who it’s the guy looking fir the easier fights and we know it’s Fury it’s on his resume . Lol

Let's see how 2024 plays out. After a ****e 2023 for the division. I think Fury Usyk happens. I do not think Wilder AJ happens next and never have i wouldn't ne surprised if never does. But that is the fight they both need. Wilder is turning 38 next month, i would have liked to see Ruiz fight maybe they'll make one last push if that doesn't happen then i'm not sure who else he can fight. AJ Wilder not happening and Wilder Usyk aint realistic either. Eddie talking about AJ vs Hrgovic or Ruiz doubt those happen think itll be an even worse opponent. Zhang Joyce 2 winner can maybe fight Wilder or AJ

Ruddock, Briggs (WBO title) Mercer (WBO title), Morrison (WBO title), Holyfield (Undisputed), Tyson (Undisputed),Tucker (IBF title) Klitschko (X2,WBC title) Rahman (x2,WBC titles), Tua, Golota, Grant, Botha, McCall (WBC title), Bruno (WBC title), Akinwande (WBO title) there are a lot of names there. He fought some past their expiry date but many of them he fought in their primes. To me it is pretty hard to crap on Lennox’s resume. He had a defence against Phil Jackson & a mandatory against that Mavrovic guy. There is the Butler eliminator & Fortune stay busy fight but for the most part after Ruddock there wasn’t many soft touches. Sure the Bowe fight never happened & a few others. There was talk of him fighting Wladimir Klitschko when he was beating guys monthly on HBO then the Sanders fight put a stop to that. I’m not sure any of today’s top 4 has as deep a resume as Lennox. Joshua has the best resume of the current top 4 in my opinion. Fury has 2 key wins that ended long title reigns but other than that his resume is thin as ice. Wilder weaker than all the others. Usyk 2 big wins at HW.

I swear is something gets in the way of Wilder vs AJ yet again for December then this ERA of Heavyweights is just a Complete Joke

Fury vs Usyk doesn't even seem possible at this point, Fury is running around dismissing it while trying to promote and Cross Promotion fight with Francis that not even UFC fans give AF about
