Epic question... lets face it, a good deal of members on this site have some cultivated interest in boxing. Some more knowledge than others, many casual fans, young guys, etc...

Cringe as it may be, and cringe it is, because in a perfect world NOBODY would give these idiots the time of day... And I suspect even on a site such as this with a wide range of understanding, most people feel the way you do. My wife, has always occasonaly glanced at the fights when I used to have a bunch come over... She could watch a guy like Oscar because he was handsome, she could appreciate Lewis and other fighters, to one degree, or another... When she first saw the idiot two jakes, bellends, known as the Paul brothers, her comment was: "Those were the guys we avoided like the plague in High school." And when you look carefully, these two are not very smart, they are scammers, having perpetuated many scams on their fan base, they are irreverent, defiling a sacred area in Japan... BUT they know social media, and they have created a way to market to the internet at large... And they have worked very hard as young men to learn how to fight in the ring.

The appeal of these two idiots has a lot to do with people recognizing that with unlimited financial resources, time, and a little bit of ego, anyone could do what these two have done... They pull in casuals who see potential...

My only wish is that more fighters took marketing lessons from these fools and got rid of the primacy of promoters... But it is so cringey that their press conference is on a boxing site.

He had put out a challenge stating that in his age group, I believe mid 50yrs, or so, he was the best!!! man and he would lick anyone who dared challenge his primacy. Well, one guy did just that and apparently has been chasing John down lol. John has been unwilling to back up his statement. I forget the guys name lol. But watching how Tyson has been lately, there is a real "like father, like son" dynamic going on here.
