DuBois is horrible. This is a waste of time for Usyk.
Usyk vs. Dubois

This will turn out to be one of the most one-sided beatdowns at heavyweight this year... I expect Usyk to land with insane accuracy and heavy volume. Referee finally steps in late to save Daniel after Usyk has turned his face into mush.Comment

Dubois has a puncher’s chance against any heavyweight. He’s also young and has good hand speed. I expect Usyk to slowly and cautiously try to break Dubois down over many rounds. Usyk can’t get reckless in there because Dubois is dangerous but I think Usyk has the skills to get the job done.Comment

This fight has, on the face of things, got the look of one where after the event you would say "see, he was never on Usyk's level".
And that will probably be right.
But sometimes you get shocks, and when you do there are usually things you point to after the fact.
Usyk has been inactive, he's getting older, he's very likely to have to win by doing the distance every time in the heavyweight class... which always increases the percentages for a puncher he might face. And his style, in my opinion, doesn't suit age.
Then there's Dubois. Slated for his loss against Joyce - but just scratch the surface and remember that he boxed well and battled a terrible injury for longer than most mortals could take. He had a pretty clear problem against Lerena but managed to gather himself and smash him out of there. He will have lessened more in those fights than if he'd just kept on his winning run.
It's the heavyweights. It could happen. Might only be about a 10% chance - but they're not terrible odds.Comment

Maybe an unpopular opinion and I realise he had a lot going on in the build up but I thought he looked very poor in the rematch vs AJ also.
Looked significantly slower and laboured.
Maybe him losing a lot of weight and rebounding had a lot to do with it but I felt he looked slow and bulky, old even.Comment

I pick Usyk by stoppage I feel the speed, movement, angles and overall skill level will be too much to overcome. I can't pick against him and I do have questions about DDs overall durability.
That said he hits hard, he looks the best I have ever seen him in training - he looks leaner though will no doubt gas out very quickly fighting like it but I feel if he can implement it he can definitely do damage and give himself as good of a shot as any. Usyk is also 37 and been very inactive so it wouldn't shock me.
Usyk only has 3 fights left max.
Huge lengthy amateur career, he does get hit, old and a reflex fighter.
I don't feel Dubois will be the one to get it done but Usyks time is definitely coming to an end very very soon.Comment

These modern heavyweights are strange, they fight once a year. If Usyk became old and slow since he fought Joshua a year ago, eveything is possible.Last edited by JakeTheBoxer; 08-20-2023, 02:36 AM.Comment

The fight could be similar to Chisora vs Usyk. And even if it is? I don't think Uysk should be down rated for that.
Dubois is a more in form fighter than the Chisora who Fury has just faced. And lets be honest? Fury could not legitimately knock out Chisora.
The stoppage was manufactured to a degree by the referee. If the referee did not intervene, I believe Chisora would of survive the full 12 rounds.
Also styles do effect the action in fights, and a semi retired Chisora stylistically should of really been a way more impressive win for Fury than it was etc.
Uysk is fighting fighters who stylistically pose him issues. Chisora, Dubois and even Joshua. These are all strong heavyweights with good power especially 'Dubois and Usyk'.
Fury in comparison really for sometime, has not fought any opponents who stylistically challenge him 'Wilder apart from his power, is a stylistically easier fight for Fury in my opinion than Usyk, Joshua and possibly a few other Heavyweights' etc.

Ddd is going to feel the pressure of the crowd, hes been a betting favourite and always had the crowd in his corner
I think dubois is going to go all out first 2 rounds snd empty the gas tank early. Usyk is going to start picking him apart and ddd folds under the pressure. Think corner pulls him out in about 7 or 8 rounds.Comment
