"ANTHONY JOSHUA WILL KNOCK OUT DEONTAY WILDER!" - Eddie Hearn

I'm not sure how I can see AJ win the fight unless he lands his bomb before Wilder can and Wilder can't take it. If it took so long to figure out Helenius, what's he going to do with Wilder? He's so awkward and punches from weird angles. Not to mention, if he weighs in at 216lbs, his right hand is blindly fast.
Let's be real though folks. AJ isn't going to come in slugging to get caught like Helenius or any of Wilder's other opponents. He's going to have deer in light eyes balls like when he rematched Ruiz and watch every little move Wilder makes. He's going to fight scared half to death and pray he can win a decision off a jab here and there. I'm not sure he'll even try a right hand.Comment

You're implying these guys are ducking AJ? Why exactly would they do that? He's the money fight, and he's looked and BEEN as beatable as ever for a number of years.
It makes zero sense for anyone to duck that fight. Much, much more likely that AJ's just been protected all these years.Comment

Just as you did with the post saying Joshua fought Usyk because they thought he was too small. No, he was a mandatory. Like a real life mandatory when orgs follow their rules and the champion takes on the mandatory challenger.
Joshua didn't duck. He offered. Over and over. He actually signed up to fight Fury - a real signature on a real contract. Wilder confirmed that he fought Fury instead of Joshua. How much evidence do you need before you understand?
The debate over Joshua's ability or his place in the rankings for the era is absolutely up for debate, but whether he was trying to make the big fights and achieve Undisputed is a definitively completed debate. He was. It's really, really clear to anyone with even a moderate IQ.
As for why Fury avoided meaningful fights... who knows? But he very definitively does. He's fighting a non-boxer rather than any kind of legitimate challenger.Comment

Joshua will never be the same if he fights Wilder. thats a big IF though as we all know, it won't happen.Comment

I'm not implying anything, I'm stating facts. You're implying these guys are ducking AJ? Why exactly would they do that? He's the money fight, and he's looked and BEEN as beatable as ever for a number of years.

Wilder himself let it slip that he'd turned down more money to fight AJ than he got for fighting Fury. I presume he must have been talking about the $100million DAZN offer there.
Fury swerved Usyk to "fight" Ngannou instead.Last edited by kafkod; 08-16-2023, 08:43 AM.Comment

I don't see this as much of a slam dunk as others do if Wilder turned down AJ then fought some unknown bum i would understand but he went on to fight the better fighter out of the 2 in Fury so surely he should get more respect for turning down more money and fighting the better fighter?Comment
