How Would Prime Mayorga do Against Crawford

Before he jumped up 2 divisions and held his chin out for Tito this guy was walking through some of the most vicious counter uppercuts in a welterweight fight in the first Forrest fight. He never showed vulnerability to the head at that weight and was durable up to 160. He never beat elite fighters but he always gave them a varying degree of difficulty and made them have to deal with his awkward movement.

I wouldn't be surprised if Crawford starts swinging mean and wild early like Forrest did in retaliation. Could Mayorga take those shots, walk past those shots, offer anything back? He'd honestly have his best chance if Crawford sticks around in orthodox as he clearly couldn't figure out Spinks who was more imposed on than Crawford ever would be. I don't think Mayorga would ever win a UD so the best he could do is what he did to Forrest.

Forrest was a good fighter. Crawford is a special talent, and more intelligent in the ring that Vernon. He wouldn't be around catching butterflies, and would stop Mayorga rather easily.

Mayorga would get beat like a drum. He was always a bully that, when you bully him back, he always folded. Bud is pretty mean in there

They said Mosley was a special talent too at that moment and at this moment I think prime Mosley will be rated higher than prime Spence - he had to take that beating too. Mosley was prime with little wear and always tough so he got to a UD. Forrest looked like a special talent legitimately for at least a little bit.

To beat a crafty counter puncher you need to make it awkward. Prime Mayorga and (to add) Maidana had that awkward approach, throwing punches from everywhere hitting shoulders, forearms, biceps etc. Id favor Bud against a Mayorga or Maidana but these guys had more than a punchers chance.

Mayorga was a brawler, who beat boxers that didn't know how to respond to that style. A counter puncher like Crawford would have figured him out and timed him.

Crawford is normally a slow starter other than the Spence fight and he takes his time to adjust. Mayorga doesn't give anyone time to adjust, every first round he fought was a shootout. Also there was one counter uppercut from Forrest thrown with absolute contempt at Mayorga who walked right into it and instead of hurting Mayorga he just took a step back and got back to fighting.

Mayorga was and still is one of the top ATG shiat talkers in boxing history... Ali was better, I can't think of another that matches up... Telling your opponent that you apologized to his mom for having to knock you out I mean mayorga was special!

As a fighter he was very good at his best. He was explosive, and he liked to fight. He also beat some other good fighters aside from Forrest, like Six heads Lewis, when Six heads was knockin them dead. Crawford probably a bit much for Ricardo, but he could make a scrap of it for a while.
