Floyd would have never fought him.

The poster (me) said no such thing. The poster has spent too many years trying to argue logic to illogical Mayweather groupies, to bother arguing again the point you seem to want to argue.
what I said, in response to the question posed by this thread, was exactly this
"Not impossible, maybe. He's better by far than the version of anyone else Floyd faced at Welterweight."
translation: Crawford would be better than any other welter Floyd ever fought, considering the faded versions of those welterweights that Floyd actually fought.
In the same exact context, this poster has spent too many years trying to argue logic and facts with people consumed with nothing but toxic hate. Not saying that’s you.
So, let’s do this again. I like Crawford. After a lot of back and forth indecisiveness, I picked Crawford to not only beat Spence but to make it look easy. I have never questioned Crawford’s skills. If Crawford retires today, I’d rank him as one of the best WW ever despite his short and weak (pre Spence) resume at 147. Based on skill set alone. He passes the proverbial “eye test”.
To your point, I didn’t go back to re-read what you wrote so that’s my mistake. I misread your post. And I don’t disagree that Crawford is way better than all the guys Floyd faced. What is also true is that ALL the guys Floyd faced at WW are by far better than the guys Crawford faced. Those two statements can be true at the same time.
Let’s break that a little. Crawford has looked spectacular against those guys because of two reasons. Crawford is super elite, those guys, not so much.
Floyd has had tough fights with some of the guys he’s faced despite being elite himself because those guys were solid guys.
If Floyd, in his prime was to face the guys Crawford faced, he would have looked just as spectacular as Crawford. Bud would have stood out against the guys Floyd faced so the question becomes, prime for prime, how does a Floyd-Crawford fight play out?
This is where you and I part ways and it’s ok. I pick Floyd to edge Crawford in a closely contested fight. Nobody wins more than 5 rounds against Floyd.

How is it that you have context when it comes to Floyd’s wins but choose to ignore context when it comes to your guy?
Floyd beating Mosley is diminished or scoffed at because Mosley was “past his prime”.
PAC weight draining both Cotto and Margarito (despite both coming off big losses) is considered spectacular.
Floyd beating Oscar is diminished because Oscar was old. PAC beating Oscar at 147 (despite Oscar not being a WW for over 7 years) is glorified.
Floyd at 36 beats Canelo gets labeled a mismatch because Canelo is “green”. PAC beating Brandon Rios, Mathysse, Broner (ALL COMING OFF LOSSES) etc is lauded to the stars.
So, same advice to you.

Floyd decided to use a high guard and get closer to Judah when they fought because of Judahs hand speed. I can imagine Crawfords jab giving Floyd trouble and if he decided to get closer to Crawford i think Crawfords power could win him the fight.Comment

Based on your post, Sugar Ray Leonard MUST be a coward running from opponents. Don’t believe me? Just have a look at SRL vs Duran II and get amazed at how he “ran” the whole fight.
After that, have a look at some of his fights when he moved up in weight. Dude “ran like a coward”.

True, floyd never fought, let alone best an ATG in their prime. Floyd decided not to fight bud, so it's Floyd's fault he's let people fantasize he loses in a fantasy fight.
Bud beats floyd, Floyd's needed judges to get him outta jail. Buds not needed giftsLast edited by hugh grant; 08-06-2023, 02:32 PM.Comment

Hahahahahahahahaa.
Tell me... did you also pick Spence to beat Crawford last Saturday? Someone that doesn't know **** about boxing telling others they don't know **** about boxing...
Crawford is not one dimensional he can fight many styles and stances, and has even better reach than Floyd. And can actually Knock the **** out a big welterweight.
Floyd's style simply is all wrong for Crawford, no one said Crawford wasn't great, no one said Crawford couldn't beat a lot of fighters, all I said was Crawford cannot beat Mayweather specifically.
Put a guy like Pacquiao in front of Crawford and then we're talking. Put a face first no lateral movement Errol against Crawford and then we're talking.Last edited by lolpz; 08-06-2023, 03:21 PM.Comment

'cowardliness makes you look like a high IQ boxer. the desperation to not get hit by running and hugging made people think he's the goat. no pun intended just pure fact.'
That is embarrassing & you can cry & you can scream & maybes you posted when you were high or whatever but that is out there & YDKSAB.Comment

Well, ATGs aren't actually just lying about, by definition ATGs are few & hard to find. Marquez was an ATG, maybe Floyd didn't fight many ATGs, so, lets go with HoFs, Hatton, Hernandez, Manfredo, Judah, Moseley, Castillo, Corrales, ... I actually have got tired naming just a few of the HoF guys Floyd beat!
Or, go on, lets apply your same test to Pacquaio. Name ONE ATG he beat in their prime.Comment
