Saturday he thought the best opponent in his career by a country mile and got exposed the tactics Crawford used and the flaws they noticed about Errol. Errol at 150% would still get beat. Even I’m looking at his flaws and thinking he is garbage and I’m his biggest fan.
There are 3 things that would have at least helped him be slightly competitive. Use feints! When Errol goes to attack, you know he's coming because he never uses feints to throw anyone off. That would have at least drew out some counters from Bud and maybe he could get his offense going off of that. Bud would have eventually adjusted to that but still.

Change the speed of his attack. Spence attacks at the same rhythm with the same set of combinations every time depending on where he or his opponent is at in the ring.

Every jab doesn't need to be a step jab. It's clearly a habit at this point born out of repetition but man he should add variety to his jab.

If Dmitry Bivol and Floyd Money Mayweather could outpoint Alvarez then so can Jermell Charlo.
Actually Canelo is much faster than Charlo with his hands, not his feet. He will counter Charlo hard. Billy Joe and Caleb could have outpointet Canelo, but they didn't. Jermall is not Floyd or Bivol, he struggle with Castano.

But this could potentially be a dangerous fight for Canelo. I am not saying that it would.

However, just like Mayweather and Bivol; Jermell Charlo is also a counterpuncher.

Who Is very economical with both his punch selection and output.

He could easily and potentially time, catch and counter Canelo between punches.

As far as BJS and Caleb Plant is concerned; Neither were counterpunchers.

They were both boxer/punchers whose work rate and punch volume is a lot higher than Jermell Charlo’s

He is right because I didn't notice until I watched the fight again that the referee was laughing and found that strange.

I'll have to watch the replay on SHO. I can't wait!

Canelo is the counter puncher. He will put constant pressure on Charlo while covering up. Once Charlo feels the pressure, he will let puches go and Canelo will counter with all his might. Canelo style vs Mayweather and his style now are two totally different styles.

Kinda weird having Bomac give insight to Errol's faults. Like why hasn't Derrick taken any steps to correct these glaring flaws?
Bomac is one of those fat guys in the corner that people laugh at until they have a problem that requires creative, intelligent solutions... Bomac is smart as shiat. "Oh how did you know that Bomac" person thinks to self: "damn... fat boy got that brain fat as well!"

You listen to him in the corner, his analysis of height quoted on the thread is a great example, this guy is not that trainer that screams and slaps his fighter, this is a guy who is watching and has an analytical understanding of boxing.

Its crazy because when you get to be in the 1% of 1% for the best in the world, in a sport, one would think that all your technical idiocyncracies are for the better. This has been demonstrated to clearly not be the case. You make some excellent points, Bomac made some good points about Spence and his leg positioning, reach and the distance between his legs... One thing I noticed was how easily it was to get Spence lined up squared to Bud. When you step and jab, if the person is slick they can find an angle where their counter hits you in the center and unbalances you, exactly what Bud did to Spence with that jab that knocked him down.

The first round of the fight you could see bud figuring him out. He would throw feints like okay if I do this you go that way and if I do this you go this way. It wasn't hard for him to read Errol because Errol for how effective he's been he's a very straight up and down fighter and he has very deliberate movement so for someone like Crawford that plays right into his hand. People can say the crash and the weight etc were issues but as we saw on the night i think it was just a style nightmare for Errol because he had never fought someone who was so accurate on the counter he was getting hit with punches from angles he just didn't see coming
