Boxing was big and televised in prime time in the U.S. but lost its appeal after the death of Benny Paret III during his ill fated, live televised, bout with Emile Griffith on March 24th, 1962. After that, there was tremendous political pressure to ban boxing and eventually prime time boxing was off the air for good.

Doing twenty rounds with the bodybuilder Joshua only proved that Usyk can't punch worth a lick. Dubois is another overrated "contender" with a glass jaw and minimal boxing skills in terms of movement, defense and overall ringmanship. But he does hit harder than powder puff Joshua. That doesn't mean he'll land a punch, though.

The whole point about this "class" of heavyweights for the last five years, maybe even ten, is that it's a sad lot. Especially today. Fury and Wilder could go toe to toe with the biggest heavyweights of the last twenty years. Outside of that - - that's it. I'm not sorry that I don't have any respect for the other heavyweights because I don't think they have much skill. I do not see, in any way, that these are a "prestigious group of athletes," as you refer to them. Far, far, from it. The Klitscho's could fight. They were entertaining. There is a dearth of talent in the heavyweight division, pure and simple. To pretend otherwise is putting on a pedestal less than mediocre fighters who wouldn't stand a chance against the heavyweights of yesteryear.

I don't know how Usyk can make a statement fighting glass jaw boxers like Dubois. Really - - impress me by beating Wilder or Fury. The only other worthy heavyweight is Jared Anderson but he's still unproven. All of the other fighters in the heavyweight division are not just bums of the month, but bums of the century. The real fight would have been Fury versus Usyk but I hold Fury responsible for that match not happening. I could give a rat's ass about him fighting Ngannou. An absolute waste of everyone's time. I sure the hell wouldn't pay a nickel to see that. Dubois could get lucky and land a big punch as Usyk is really a cruiserweight. But I suspect that Usyk will be on his bicycle and wear down Dubois and might even knock him out as Dubois can't take a punch. Another fight I could care less about. Absolutely nothing happening in the heavyweight division.

I'm with you. Dubois is his mando and that's the only reason he's doing it. Really the only fight at heavyweight I care about is Usyk v. Fury.
