Bud beating Spence is equivalent to Floyd beating a 2009-2010 version of pacquaio?

It happens in all sports. Basketball players today gets compared to the magics and jordans of the world. Who’s the better passer, who’s the better scorer. 10 years fromOriginally posted by The Big Dunn
Yes he is.
Why cant it just be about the performance from the boxer?
Every win doesnt have to be a comparison to Floyd.
now Crawford and Spence will get compared to the next gen fighters. If you don’t like it get off the forum so you won’t have to discuss comparisons and different topics about Floyd that hurts your feelings.Comment

2009 pac was extremely avoided by floyd he even went retired for this. and went back after damaged/koed pac by JMM. floyd waited few more years to fight fading pac. if the fight happened in 2009 if will be a complete murder for pac and cannot be compared to this spence-crawford fight.Comment

I rarely post on this board but I check in with major fights. Guys, why do we always de-value guys and trash boxing after a great win. Spence was and is a great fighter. Dude fought his way to three belts, including and basically fought everyone at welter weight except Thurman. Never ducked a fight and even fought Garcia as his comeback fight (and beat him up).
Bud is just that good. There is a reason Freddie Roach would let Pac near him (and chose Spence). Let’s give Crawford his flowers and not **** on Spence.Comment

A light-heavyweight Bernard Hopkins was the only one brave enough who publicly called out Pacquiao for a fight in 2009.
Yup. That's real history.Comment

Not even close, because A. 2009 Pacquiao wasn't a 33 year old slurring alcoholic who got ruined from a car crash, B. Gayweather wanted no part of 2009 Pacquiao.Comment

Not taking anything from Crawford, he was masterful and I enjoyed his dominance. My point in saying that Spence is past his prime is his demeanor and how he lost the fight. His punches no longer had any snap in them starting in round 4, too early to run out of juice for someone in his prime.
Crawford has been preparing for this fight for more than half a decade while spence and his team never wanted it to begin with. Coming into this fight Crawford just had a gigantic mental advantage and confidence because he knows his truth that he never shied away from the fight. He nullified and negated everything Spence has to offer and has seen those moments a hundred times in his dreams. While Spence’s and his team’s fears just manifested even more as the fight went on, and they got brutally reminded why they never wanted any part of it.
Anyone out there not name Crawford would have been on the receiving end of Spence’s fury, pummeled with broken eye sockets. So I disagree with him being past his prime, he just met an immovable object full of conviction and belief that it was his moment to rise.
There is no winning against naysayers though, if spence won he’s not past his prime, if he lost he’s past it. Same goes for Crawford. When he pummeled Ugas everyone was saying he still on top of his game, and imagined what he would have done to pacquiao. When Avanesyan was laying leather on Crawford, they say his age is finally showing. Now, its Spence who’s past his prime. Don’t be that guy.
