People were claiming Spence would ruin any version of Manny. Now, Spence is a hype job after Crawford taxed that ass. Funny how quickly the narratives change! The haterade and tears will flow this week.
Bud beating Spence is equivalent to Floyd beating a 2009-2010 version of pacquaio?

Although Pacqiuao & Mayweather are ranked higher than Crawford & Spence, you could argue there is more skilled between the latter. Also it was an undisputed fight, with more on the line, fought with greater effort & better quality fight.
Based on all of the above & the manner in which Crawford fought & won in, I'd say Crawford beat Spence is more impressive than Mayweather pulling a dull uninspiring victory over a past it fighter in a fight 7 years too late.Comment

Well first off Floyd was too scared to fight a Manny or anybody as good in their prime because as a guy pointed out here the fight would be more intense and we know Floyd just wanted easy fights at welterweight.
That being said Floyds best prime fighter at welterweight is Ricky Hatton. Bud beating Spence particularly in the fashion he did it usurps anything Floyd did at welterweight outside of ppv sales. Spence was undefeated 3 belts king of the hill at welterweight and Crawford stopped him. ATG stuff and full credit.Comment

I think floyd and manny had different skillsets than the latter, and I wouldn’t say they had more. Those two started from much lower weights and excelled beyond what many though they could.Although Pacqiuao & Mayweather are ranked higher than Crawford & Spence, you could argue there is more skilled between the latter. everything else you said I agree though. Floyd never even dared to beat the breaks off a faded pacman and was comfortable on a dull win slightly landing more punches.Comment

I don't know maybe maybe not. A shopworn Mosley had Cotto put on his track shoes in the late roundsComment

You're fucking ******. Spence can't hold Mannys jockstrap. As great as Floyd was, as great as his resume is, he just doesn’t have a single WIN of this caliber on his resume. He doesn’t have an all time great win against a great prime fighter. His resume is loaded with big names and great wins (which gives him a case for GOAT and TBE status) but if we really gonna dissect it, his biggest win against an absolute prime fighter remains to be Corrales.
A win of this magnitude, winning all the marbles against an undefeated fighter is equivalent to him beating an ATG in Pacquiao in 2009-2010 (or well in that case it might even be a bigger win.)
A lot of ATGS had a single ATG win in their resume, who was Floyd’s?Comment

who said he would? You don’t seem to have the reading comprehension to get what I’m trying to say, I’m comparing it to the magnitude and how impressive this victory was for Crawford. Floyd never had this type of win, but would have had if he defeated 2009-2010 Pacquiao.

It happens in all sports. Basketball players today gets compared to the magics and jordans of the world. If you don’t like it get off the forum so you won’t have to discuss comparisons.Originally posted by The Big Dunn
Yes he is.
Why cant it just be about the performance from the boxer?
Every win doesnt have to be a comparison to Floyd.Comment

This is the answer to the question you asked me.

Once you bring up Floyd, it brings out the very worst losers of the forum. It then becomes a **** show because, as you realize in this post, the reading comprehension of many is so low that they immediately assume you’re denigrating Manny or lowering Floyd.
It also devolves into a crap fest where the guys that are fans of guys Floyd beat use the thread to vent their still hurt feelings.
Many posters vent about how the board is too much about Floyd. Yet whenever there is a major win, his name comes up.
I just dont see why. And I’m one of the biggest Floyd fans there is.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 07-30-2023, 08:24 AM.Comment
