You get that a lot in the US in particular. In reality, you tend to see higher skill levels at the lower levels precisely because there's so many more fighters. That's why you also see Muay Thai fighters at 25 who have hundreds of fights. You need to be exceptional to stand out from your peers in that kind of environment. A lot of those Muay Thai guys also go into boxing and become world champs.

I would bet that the average guy on the street in Japan knows who Inoue and Ioka are, and maybe also who guys like Junto Nakatani and Tenshin Nasukawa are. The average guy on the street in the US has no idea who Errol Spence Jr is, or even Tank Davis. Boxing isn't what it once was in the US.

I wouldn't be surprised if viewers in the East know the names of many contenders that would get dismissed on here as bums, but would think that Xander Zayas, Jared Anderson, Frank Martin etc are unknowns.
I knew Inoue is a very good fighter

but started paying attention after he destroyed an elite American boxer

I believe Crawford is the better fighter. There are more depth, more layers to his game.

It's pretty damn close, they're both great, cerebral type of fighters.

I would hope Crawford would whoop him, he is many weight classes above him. But I believe the question is based on a P4P level, which balances out for weight class. There are many ways to measure that, but direct H2H not accounting for weight difference seems to be a bit of a silly way to do so. I imagine the 20th best heavyweight would whoop Crawford, but I don't think that makes the 20th best HW better than Crawford on a P4P measure.

There's a bunch of great fighters in the lower weight divisions that a certain subset of boxing fans totally miss out on. Chocolatito vs Estrada was one of the great rivalries of the previous era. Choc v Estrada 1&2 were both easily fight of the year candidates, in which over 2000 punches were thrown. Ioka is a great fighter. Junto Nakatani looks great, as does Bam Rodriguez. Tenshin Nasukawa just had his pro debut and will fight again September 18. Many US fans don't realize that he has a solid argument for being the best kickboxer in modern history, retiring undefeated from kickboxing with a record of 44-0 with 30 KO's, including a win over the top ONE Muay Thai champion Rodtang, among many other top fighters.

                No comparison.

Inoue is goin up in wgt, challenging the top champions... and dominating them.

Terence has been in the same wgt class for 5 yrs, and basically fights once a year, cherry picking avg competition.

My opinion is based on p4p.

8 divisions? Nah too small. Think the most he can move up is about 130. 135 would be tough because of his size and the weight advantage 135lbers carry
