Comments Thread For: Tim Bradley: We Can't Ask The Judge How He [Scored] The Fight; Biggest Issue In Boxing

Tim Bradley was visibly upset by the controversial outcome of the George Kambosos Jr.-Maxi Hughes fight Saturday night. Well aware of how difficult it will be for the unheralded Hughes to win his way back into the position he occupied when he entered the ring to box Kambosos, Bradley blasted the judges who didn't credit Hughes for winning their 12-round

While we all agree with Bradley, someone needs to remind him that he too was a recipient of a gift decision that was facilitated by Bob Arum the murderer in order to pave the way for a trilogy.
Like Kamboso, Bradley too denied it was a robbery. Every time he was asked the score, Bradley would repeat a mantra that he won 8-4 rounds.

This is such a weird comment. Who gives a **** if Bradley got a gift decision. Like what the hell does that have to do with his accurate point. Are you one of those people who cares more about the person making the point before you decide it's okay to agree with them? Bizarre.

You can ask them all you want, the ambiguity in the criteria allows for them to interpret it however they want. Fighter A can cover up for a whole round and do nothing, you can give it to him because you liked that defense, or felt it made him the general. Fighter B can land 40 power shots in a round, but you can say that the 10 he missed made his aggression 'in-effective'.

What is BIZARRE is you getting triggered with my comment. This is despite the fact that I started with acknowledging that Bradley was right.
And then you proceed with the “are you one of those …” ignoring the fact that I agreed with Bradley.
            Very bizarre

              He's right.

Judges should have to face the media, just like the fighters do.

The media should go after them, never seen a media guy asking a judge about a score. And that would be a good journalism and something new. We should ask the media why they don't go after crooked judges.

Helps that the judges aren't there to answer questions... There's hundreds of articles about how corrupt boxing judging is. There's articles about Dave Moretti participating in robberies from Sugar Ray Leonard v Marvin Hagler to Haney v Loma. But how many times has Moretti had to answer to the viewing public? How many times have his finances been audited for those little under-the-table envelopes?

The cards don't even have spaces for the judges to explain their reasoning for the scoring of each round or the fight as a whole. Just sterile numbers. There's lots of little changes that could be made easily to reduce corruption if the powers that be wanted it to be less corrupt.

There needs to be a commission to train and rate judges , as well as discipline bad ones , or nothing will change and a few times a year we will read articles like this one. Judges have been screwing fighters since boxing began. It's sickening to see someone who has worked so hard and has their families economic future on the line get robbed by an old man in a cheap suit. I hate it too.
