Comments Thread For: Usyk: I Don't Even Care About WBC Belt, I Need Tyson Fury, We Need To Fight

Oleksandr Usyk insists he is not interested in winning the WBC title anymore - he just wants to fight 'beautiful' Tyson Fury in a clash for the ages.

Appeal to ego to get Fury in the ring? I like that he doesn't play the comparison games and is generally respectful of his opponents. Definitely fighting for legacy here.

Would he still want to fight Fury if he loses to Ngannou and loses the wbc belt? Fat chance, I know. But i doubt he would still want to fight him if that happens, and I can't help but root for Ngannou. It would be a huge blow to the **** business that is boxing.

Usyk has the best attitude/mindset of any current fighter. There’s no active fighter I have more respect for aside from maybe Donaire.

The WBC title ain't on the line against Ngannou.

What's your thoughts on "accepting" the 70-30 split in the media aslong as Fury donates a million £?

I don't know about you but I considered that an obvious publicity stunt from the jump as soon as I saw that. I personally don't think Usyk had any intention of fighting Fury in the UK.
