It's not ideal, most def. But he could take a fight at 154 and not crest 150 at weigh-in. Then returning to 147 wouldn't be as arduous. But it appears few at welter are willing to fight Ennis. Maybe he needs to go to the UK and fight Brook at 154 to get his name out there more?

When Crawford moved up from 140 in 2018 (man, that seems like an ice age ago), 147 was loaded with fighters in their prime. I remember being on here as a HUGE Crawford supporter saying "give him 2 fights to get the weight right, and there will be some wars!!" Here we are, 5 years later, and Crawford has finally had a couple fights that I look at as legit. All the rest of that time was in the ring with fighters that were honestly below his level. Just seems like a waste of such a strong talent.

Why bring this up? Because I worry Ennis is on a similar path. It seems he has a fairly good division full of really respectable names, but so far he just keeps bringing up the names he cannot get. Now, he is young and the way he has been brought along is fine. He can step it up over the next 12-18 months and become the name everyone else wants. He has that kind of talent. But I am a boxing fan and I have seen this movie before. I just am worried we will be ready to bring in 2025 or 2026, and Ennis will still be wondering why he is so avoided......
