  • Comments Thread For: Ennis: Hopefully Spence-Crawford Is A One-Sided Fight, No Rematch, And I'll Be Next For Winner

By Keith Idec - Jaron Ennis realizes that Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford have rematch clauses in their contracts for their upcoming welterweight championship showdown. Ennis considers Spence-Crawford "a 50-50 fight," one that truly could go either way. He hopes, however, that he sees Spence or Crawford dominate from his ringside seat July 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The loser would more than likely want a rematch regardless of how they lose. There’s a rematch clause afterall.

However Bud vs Spence plays out, I can see Bud going to 154 after that fight/those fights and Spence going to 160. I don't see Ennis fighting either of them ever. Not because they're scared, but rather they just have other goals to achieve. As for Thurman, who I'm a fan of, let's see him get in the ring with SOMEBODY first. If he fights and beats Ugas and comes out clean (no guarantee with that) with the vacated WBC belt in hand, maybe, just maybe he tries to unify with Boots (who will be elevated by the IBF). If I had to bet, though, I'd say that doesn't happen either.

I like Ennis but he'd get smashed by the winner. His win against Villa was good but, he needs one or two more fights (preferably against Stannonis and Thurman) before challenging the winner.

Ennis should forget about fighting anyone of them, both are moving up after their bout

Wasn't Conor Benn looking for a fight in the US?

In an ideal world one of them would pass the torch to Boots in a year or two and help make him a star.

Ennis should forget about Crawford and Spence, and pursue his own legacy. Thurman, Ugas, Stanionis and Ortiz are all right there for him to make a name for himself - i don't see anyone of them halting him.

                    there's levels of scared.
From a 10 - which is 'shit your pants' right down to a 1 which is "I don't want that work."

Special mention for number 9 which is 'flee the ring' as we saw 2/3 years back

Lets see which of Thurman, Ugas, Stanionis, Bud and Spence want the work with Boots.

I like Thurman - say before 2019 - but he is done as a serious contender for the elite now - far far far too inactive - mountains of rust
