Comments Thread For: Team Bivol: Canelo Talking About Rematch Was Always Just a Front For the Fans

Money wasn't the sticking point. When team Bivol says they rejected Canelo's offer because they refused to fight under the same terms they're referring to Bivol trying to change the weight of the rematch to 168 even though the first fight was at 175 and Bivol has only ever fought at 175 lol. Bivol was named '22 fight of the year but what did he do in '23? Reject a rematch anyone else would jump at for more money and buzz. He also pulled out of talks with Beterbiev ironically citing money. Even more embarrassing, team Bivol had been trying to fight Munguia . Basically he dismissed the two biggest fights possible to sit on the couch complaining about fights he turned down as Canelo and Beterbiev continue fighting top opposition. Beterbiev already put him on blast for claiming he's eager yet never taking steps to actually unify. https://www.boxingscene.com/artur-be...ght-it--172095Last edited by Caxcan; 07-01-2023, 07:02 PM.Comment

he already is rich. bivol had all the leverage here. canelo made 15 million in the first fight to get his azz wooped. what did that prove? only that he was an overrated cherry picking clwon and guess what? now hes back to his overrated cherry picking clown tactics of fighting teenie tiny men moving up 2 weight divisions. is this better then his draining tactics? or his ducking tactics? get a new hero. this ones a dudComment

Bivol def sounding bitter cause he knows he blew his shot at least for gingers next 3 bouts ,rematch always at same weight or higher NEVER at a lower one...Dmiti forgot no one tells the face of boxing what to do even if you beat em into a decision.
Now the Russian will have to settle fighting a no name for a fraction of the money....and Beterbiev getting older by the day still waiting to unify the division.Comment

“Bivol just says he wants to fight me,” Beterbiev told BoxingScene.com. “He never goes. Like Joe Smith and Gvozdyk, they said they want the fight and they come to fight, you know? But Bivol just says he wants to fight, wants to fight, and that’s it. But you can’t say like for 10 years the same thing, but not fight.”
Canelo is scared to fight Bivol, except the for time they went 12 rounds with each other.
Bivol is not scared to fight Beterbiev as they have never fought.
This what I read day after day.

Canelo wanted to fight you at 175, at the same weight where you beat him and you were crying that you wanted the fight at 168 . You don’t make the decisions here, regardless if you won the first fight, you’re still the B side. Canelo makes the terms because he’s the one that sells. Know your role you weird eyed clownComment

I don't think it's going to be as easy as canelo expects. Charlo has that fast twitch punching and movement when necessary. canelo has slowed right down. Ryder was piecing him up throughout 12 rounds here and there canelos regressing he's not as slick defensively or offensively compared to how he was against Jacobs and his defense in that fight so I think charlo can make things interesting for sure should be good to watch.Comment

People are blaming Bivol for not agreeing to fight Beterbiev for all the belts when in reality Sulaiman is the one preventing them to fight. He needs a map to identify that *****’s Russia is not where Bivol resides and people need to read the news about the WBC’s ban on Russians before making a dumb opinion
