Sure we can. Alvarez was talking all of that shit about wanting so badly to avenge his loss to Bivol, then he offers him terms that he knew Dmitri would not accept. Why? Because red didn't want that smoke, but he also didn't want to look like a coward for not rematching him.

Reynoso is a very smart man. He knows another loss to bivol and canelo earning power will be severely dehydrated. Why u think they’re fighting baby charlo? Stylistically this is an excellent fight for canelo charlo will be there all night to eat leather

The thing about Alvarez is, his hardcore fans are just people who bought into the hype train of the "Face of boxing", and now that he is being seen and called out by many people for his usual crap, those hardcore fans are trying to defend him and they look really ridiculous.

Canelo got beat by Floyd, GGG twice after he had already aged him, Bivol whipped him badly, and a few other very close fights. He has never been all that exciting to watch, he has feasted on weak champions, he has been busted for chemical help. He talks about "chasing greatness", beating a ancient Kovalev who was there to lose.....and now he has tried to drag ancient cruisers down to 180, and he is dragging a mental case up two divisions, that hasn't fought in two years, who will obviously be there to get a big payday and likely retire.

At this point, the obviousness of Canelo's hype being total bull**** is in plain view. The fans who keep defending him, saying he can do whatever he wants, he is Canelo, etc....based on what??? It is a joke, and this era with him as the "man" will be looked back at as laughable. Just an utter joke. And that isn't "hating Canelo". It is just a fact.

The money Bivol received for the 1st fight is the same as that offered for the second and incidentally is around 5 times more than Bivol has ever received for any single fight. The reality is that Canelo generates historic numbers of fans for his fights and regrettably Bivol does not. So let's see where this situation is at this moment. Bivol lost out on a huge payday in that he will have to fight around 5 fights to make up the loss, and Canelo will make $50 million when all is said and done for fighting Charlo, a much more recognized fighter with a much bigger fan base than Bivol.

A side made the offer. B side had the option to take it or leave it.
Bivol wasn’t in a position to dictate anything and the A side moved on.

If that A-side who got trounced in the first fight wanted the rematch badly enough, his team would've sweetened the offer. Sure the A-side moved on, but he didn't really want the fight.

had a feeling this fight would never happen

i think bivol got paid 2 mil plus a percentage of ppv sales, which by all accounts didnt do that great so i think he was reasonable to demand a bigger payday after winning the first fight

Difference between want and need. He wanted it but he only fights in his terms. He has two promoters willing to throw $100 million plus at him and a choice of who he can fight.
What options does Bivol have to make anywhere near what he makes against Canelo?
Now money may not be his main motivation and that’s all well and good but that doesn’t mean he has any leverage on how that fight happens.
