Look the first time Bivol was just taken advantage of due to his piety and calmness. Caleb Plant got 10 million dollars to fight Canelo plus percentage of the fight fee also BJS got about 8 - 10 million dollars for his fight. Meanwhile Bivol got 2 million dollars the first time and it's obvious he was screwed and cheated the first time coz his team was not harsh in negotiations like BJS and Plant team. I remember BJS threatening to opt out for that fight if he was paid less. So it's only fair that Bivol got paid more this time at least of around 5 million dollars if at all Canelo wanted to fight Bivol BADLY.

The point of this fight wasn't even about the weight class coz Mauricio Suleiman has already poured cold water on the fight saying WBC won't sanction both fight for Bivol at 168 with Canelo and 175 with Beterbiev thereby killing every options for undisputed fight. So the fight with Canelo was to take place at 175 where Bivol is already 175 WBA super champion. Bivol deserves better.

Bivol is right not to accept such terms from Canelo coz it will set future precedent of champions getting screwed in negotiations. Sometimes principle is everything. Before he fought Canelo he was doing fine and he never was crazed about fighting Canelo. It was Canelo who wanted to fight him thinking he was easy target.

Canelo was the one ranting that he wanted to fight Bivol BADLY at 175 rematch so it was right to add more zeros to the dollars to suit Bivol as per champion and as per winning the first fight in convincing fashion.

Eddie Hearn too must be blamed for allowing Bivol to be low-balled in this negotiations. He suppose to help Bivol earn more in this supposed rematch instead he was kissing Canelo's azz and kept quiet.

The irony was that Canelo left Eddie and signed with PBC for the next 3 fights LOL

So either Bivol waits another 2 years for a Canelo paypout or he forgets that missed opportunity and focuses on unification and legacy.

The fan boys/Casuals are outta control. The best vs the best should always be the goal and that's one aspect of the ufc that i appreciate. If you are not gonna defend the belts let em go. (Big Charlo 2 years of inactivity and still WBC champ smh) I completley agree with Teddy Atlas when he says every champion should defend their belt against the the #1 contender for that sanctioning body within 6 months.
