    Wilder vs Shavers ?

Shavers was slightly more skilled and could fight inside and out while Wilder posses better chin and stamina who would win in a 12 round battle ?

FYI- Shavers was KO'd by Jerry Quarry.
Wilder would have ended his career.

Shavers is the only guy that had more soft touches then Wilder to boost his knockout record up .

Stylistically Wilder probably puts his lights out very quickly . Wilder puts a lot of guys out from that era .

I’d favour Wilder but could go either way. Complete shootout. Would be explosive for sure.

Lol Wilder has only beat a washed up Ortiz. Shavers beat a faded Norton and a few other guys. If Shavers lands on Wilder it is over. Shavers on the other hand usually took a beating before he got stopped.

                Quarry
                -Never held a belt
                -Never was a KO artist
-Was beaten by the top dogs of his era

                Wilder
                -Former champ
                -Undoubtedly a KO artist
                -Only beaten by one man
                -Height & reach huge advantage
                -Durability

I don't see anything "much better" there.
Shavers would have been vaporized early.

Ortiz beats the crap out of Shavers . You guys on here would be asking why a guy like Shavers lost every big fight he’s been in if the exact display of fights were duplicated today and if Shavers actually fought the big punchers of his time and won you’d have a starting point . This match up is dead in the water before it starts , Wilders chin isn’t great but even he was harder to land cleaner on then Shavers , he fought like one guy who was known for power and got stopped in 6 by Ron Lyle .

seems like because wilder took a lot of easy fights you are overrating him while punishing quarry for taking a lot of hard fights.

i will run down your points.

quarry never held a belt but there was essentially only 1 belt when he fought. if there was 1 belt now, wilder would not have had one. sorry wilder vs stirverne wouldnt have made the cut for a heavyweight title fight back then.

quarry has ko'd 4 top 10 opponents. wilder has ko'd 1. quarry also ko'd 2 guys who made it to the top 10 after losing to quarry while none of the bums wilder ko'd ever made it back to the top 10. so thats 4 to 6 ko wins over good opponents while wilder only has 1. i will take ko'ing proven fighters over ko'ing a lot of bums and unranked fighters so your claim that wilder is undoubtedly a ko artist isnt backed up. its based on him ko'ing weak competition which should be seen as a negative, not a positive. when he upped his level of competition that ko power dramatically fell which happens to every boxer, only difference is wilder continued figthing weak comp for much longer(a bad thing)

yes quarry was beaten by top guys like ali and frazier as well as some of the other top contenders of the time, but he also beat way more contenders than wilder.

quarry has 6 top 10 wins, wilder has 3(2 of them are the same guy so not sure that counts)
quarry has 4 top 10 ko wins. wilder has 2(once again same guy so not sure that counts)

also look at the age of wilders top 10 wins: stiverne(36) and ortiz(39) thats troubling. quarry's wins over patterson(32) lyle(29) shavers(31) mac foster(28) thad spencer(25) and jack bodell(31) show that he was fighting guys in or near their physical primes while wilder was not.
