Why not fight Benaviedez? This fight makes no sense.

this fight makes perfect sense as canelito is hellbent on avoiding benavidez, his now-mandatory and bivol rematch for 168 belt, the guy who schooled him 12-0.. he cant beat the last 2 champs at 175 so he skips that and prolly drain grandpa at CW.

hilarious how this fight out of nowhere is "almost done" while canelo's camp wouldnt talk to bivol's and taking forever to make the benavidez fight

Agreed 100%. I think from our standpoint it makes no sense but from Clenelo's it makes perfect sense: Avoid Bena and Bivol and just jump up and fight a weak CW for the belts there. If he does that he should at least vacate 168.

Canelo is done at elite level. His only chance is fighting Badou Jack at catchweight, but even this will be a step too far.

Canelo is really a very expensive punching bag for elite fighters. If he wasn`t Mexican, he would be forgotten after Bivol fight.

I thought this was a joke when I read it from another source this morning. This is cringeworthy news if true.

i said a few weeks ago that he would somehow find an old slow fighter that people had forgot about for his next opponent... there was noway he was gonna let bivol embarrass him at 168 or fight benavidez, this is the type of fight he will look good in against some big old stiff that doesnt move, we will see all the feints and the combos in this one he will look like a million dollars against the 40 year old. if canelo could avoid jabs as well as he avoids elite opponents he would be the p4p number 1
