I've been willing to give Canelo the benefit of the doubt in the past, but sheesh, just clear out super middle before you go mucking about in a division that even if you win the belt, you'll vacate it immediately. Inoue and Usyk are doing it right, IMO. Clear out the division, move up, clear out the division again. Even Teo is doing it better.

Jack represents a name and the path with the least resistance for a title at a higher weight. Jack also is not a natural CW and they more than likely banking on his age and milage. Plus Jack doesn't move a lot and that plays into Canelo well.

I am not praising the move if it happens because that fight would be more a personal accomplishment for Canelo than a fight that I want to see. The only two fights I want to see Canelo at this moment is against Benavides or Bivol.

Canelo is being stubborn, but I think I understand his strategy. He's trying to force the PBC guys to eliminate each other. Didn't Sampson say Benavidez was gonna fight Morrell if he didn't get Canelo? Charlo and Andrade have supposedly spoken about fighting.

Canelo is doing what cash-cows typically do: take advantage of his privileged position to carefully choose his opponents. I want to see Canelo/Benavidez.

Here we go again.

Kovalev 36 years old, already past prime. He fought Yarde on August 24th and Canelo on November 2nd. He didn't have time to recover.
Now Jack 39 years old, also past prime. One more cherry pick.
Bivol 32 years old, prime, Canelo lost.

At least Loma, Haney, Taylor, Lopez, Tank, Garcia, Spencer and Crawford are showing up to fight. Win or lose.
Rather than choosing pass prime fighters, Canelo has other options at his 168 weight.
If he doesn't want to, release the belts and he can fight whoever he wants.
