Is Wilder low weight and slimness the reason why he is the most explosive heavyweight?

Not so. He faced the 36 year old and wildly over rated fighter Bermane Stiverne and took the guy the distance. https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/324806
You counting Fury twice or something? Because Fury is the only guy he's ever faced that he didn't KO, and he did put Fury on the canvas I think 4 times as well. He's knocked out everyone else he's faced. I grant this is a weak era for heavyweights, but putting everyone you've ever faced on the canvas is still impressive.
He's also defended his title as many times as all the other active champions combined (Usyk, AJ, Fury).
His title defenses feature the old, non top ten, and generallywere hand picked. Yes it is weak time for heavyweights, but at beat one guy in his prime that is ranked in the top ten.Comment

This right here.
You're either born with it or you're not
Wilder's lack of size enables him to be more athletic and have better endurance than a lot of fighters, which is why it was an awful idea to gain a bunch of weight to fight FuryComment

Then he faced Stiverne in a rematch and KOed him in the first round... Conveniently left that little detail out eh?

Luis Ortiz is STILL ranked 6th by Ring even despite losing to Wilder twice. And Wilder fought him when he was still undefeated. In fact, he's only lost to Wilder and Ruiz.
Breazeale was the mandatory challenger for the WBC when he fought Wilder, and at that point his only loss was to AJ. Wilder flattened him in the first round also.
Just admit you don't like Wilder and leave it at that.

Ortiz ranking reflects inactivity in the top 10, rather than Ortiz fighting/winning at a high level.

It's a weak era for the heavyweights. That's not Wilder's fault. As far as inactivity goes, he's defended his title as much as AJ, Fury, and Usyk combined. And I do my fair share of criticizing Wilder. He's not particularly skilled, after all. He's fun to watch though, because he gets outboxed by almost everyone, and then lands that right and good night. He's like the walking definition of "a puncher's chance."Comment

was stiverne in the rematch in the top 10? no.
ortiz was almost 40 but he was a top 10 opponent.
was breazele in the top 10? no.
so he's ko'd 1 top 10 opponent his entire career who happened to be 40 years old. doesnt look too impressive to me. looks to me like hes been carefully managed to look impressive against tomato cans and old men.Comment

I’d always admired guys with fast twitch musculatureNo, people of certain ilk on here won't like to hear this but the reason is genetics. Look at dwayne Chambers former sprinter he was explosive like wilder and had a similar build to deontay wide upper body narrow calfs. More fast twitch muscle. The twitch muscle definitely helps its why rigondeaux still moves like a cat and has that laser beam straight left in his 40's
some guys just generate more force than others…
other guys can’t pop like hard hitting people
my wife has really fast explosive speed but it’s shot lived
she gases out when we Ron on the sand near here.

so you admit its a weak era and yet wilder is not even fighting anyone good within this weak era...thats not a good look for wilder. for example joshua has 7 top 10 wins, wilder has 2. not all defenses are created equal...but lots of times people retreat to vague stats when they dont have the substance on which to make a compelling argument. wow more title defenses...yeah but against who? quality is what matters and his resume isnt up to snuff. its much worse than andy ruiz's for example. its worse than joe joyce's for example. those guys dont get any hype though which shows that hype machine propaganda does work and boxing isnt based on merit, which is ok, but we should at least admit its not based on merit and not pretend guys like wilder are great for at best doing very little, and at worst for conning people into thinking they are top guys when they arent. the time for fantasy has almost come to an end dont you think? been waiting 10 years for him to dominate the division and ko everyone...yet 1 top 10 ko over a 40 year old is all that has arisen...weird.
