  • Is Wilder low weight and slimness the reason why he is the most explosive heavyweight?

Most heavyweight boxers these days are 240lb+ Wilder fights at 215-225 yet is the hardest hitter and most explosive in the division does his low weight have anything to do with this ?

Probably not. He probably has more leverage being tall. Foreman wasn't small and consequently ****** hard.

Depends what you mean by explosive. If Wilder's technique was better he would probably hit even harder.

If his technique was better, he'd probably kill someone in the ring. Let's be happy he doesn't have a great technique

It's the long limbs and the willingness to throw with completely reckless abandon. Wilder doesn't care if he throws himself wildly off balance and looks like an idiot. He doesn't care if he loses 10 rounds and looks like a total amateur doing it. He doesn't care if the recovery from his punches leaves him vulnerable to be hit back. He slings those punches from far and wide and puts every ounce of energy he can muster into them every single time.

Power like Wilder has is a gift. You can't train for it, you can't build for it. Either God gifted it to you or He didn't.

I hate bringing back Wilder/Fury, but I don't know why Wilder went nuts to pack on so much weight. He KO'd Ortiz weighting around 215l-216bs and even had a cold. He went up to around 245lbs to face Fury. All that extra weight clearly made him look tired at the halfway mark. Maybe even sooner. When he faced Ortiz, he was super lively and energetic, even in the 7th.

I think they feared that Fury's added weight would be too much to deal with if Wilder was too small. I think to an extent, it does help Fury take the punch, but I also felt that by Wilder trying to compete with Fury's weight gain, it cost him even more. So what if Wilder was going to get KO'd being a lighter dude, at least he would of been more efficient in doing so.

Tendon attachment points, muscle density, bone density, and really long limbs. He's able to generate more power in the same shot than other people because of his genetics, and he's got an instinctive understanding of how to land his right. He does that right like a whip, so his hand lands with massive force because he can really accelerate it, and he must have abnormal bone density because he doesn't break his hands as often as one might otherwise suspect. Pity he doesn't seem to have the left hook figured out. If he had a hook to match his right, especially an educated one that could body snatch, I don't know that anyone would be able to last 12 with him.

He fights hand picked guys ( besides Fury ), old guys, and unranked non top ten men. Check, check, check. Might that be why you " think " he is the most explosive hitter in the division? I noticed the two highest ranked guys lasted the distance / beat him.

What is his weight with that ring costume he blamed for the defeat?

You counting Fury twice or something? Because Fury is the only guy he's ever faced that he didn't KO, and he did put Fury on the canvas I think 4 times as well. He's knocked out everyone else he's faced. I grant this is a weak era for heavyweights, but putting everyone you've ever faced on the canvas is still impressive.

He's also defended his title as many times as all the other active champions combined (Usyk, AJ, Fury).

No, people of certain ilk on here won't like to hear this but the reason is genetics. Look at dwayne Chambers former sprinter he was explosive like wilder and had a similar build to deontay wide upper body narrow calfs. More fast twitch muscle. The twitch muscle definitely helps its why rigondeaux still moves like a cat and has that laser beam straight left in his 40's
