This is the problem with this site - people thinking they've got a right to answer questions and post in threads without ever researching anything. "Well I don't know jack ****, I've only ever seen three fights in all, but here's my opinion anyway...."

      I voted Floyd, incidentally.
Man I can't stand dumb-ass that get emotional and give bad karma... Stop being a sensitive *****

A quick superficial answer would be the welterweight who just fought a 36 year old career featherweight at welterweight. The guy's resume is really solid but nowhere near close the ATG level he, his fans, & the majority of boxing scribes give him.

When did arturo gatti, diego corrales, jose luis castillo, ricky hatton, carlos baldomir, & zab judah become great HOF legendary fighters?

          Carry on.
Mayweather fought his whole career as a welter?? I didn't see Joe move up and clean out LHW, and I never saw him go to cruiserweight either. Floyd is rightfully winning this poll he is the more skilled better boxer, with a far better resume. Not a knock on Joe he is very good, but lets be honest he's not in Floyd's league.

              Who said anything about legendary?
That said, Corrales, JLC and Hatton each have a chance to get into the hall.

Oh yes of course, barely beating a 45 year old hopkins and Roy Jones after Roy should have proably been retired is really a great accomplishment. Roy was knocked senseless by Tarver, Johnson, and then nearly shutout by Tarver before fighting Joe, add that he was 40 it's really shouldn't even count. I'd put it up there with Larry Holmes beating the shell of Ali, or Lennox beating Tyson.

Floyd could have ended his career in 04 and it would still be better than Joe's. That's the truth. Find me one reputable publication that rates Joe higher. You won't.

BTW: Joe was NEVER ranked P4P #1 at any point in his career. Floyd has countless times.

There are some obvious ones in the poll that voted for Joe, and it has nothing to do with resume.

Wins over De La Hoya (old and way past prime) and Hatton (shockingly overrated) mean more than a win over Kessler (prime, solid killer)....

                    LOL!
