Agreed. I like Haney and found it a really bizarre comment, until another poster pointed out that they’re trying to get the referee to prevent any inside fighting by planting seeds in his mind.
I do not see Harvey Dock, an ex amateur boxer, having any seeds planted! I see Harvey as one of the best of the newer refs. Imagine if you had Tony Weeks or Robert Hoyle as a ref, it’d look like a Schitt show! I think that the ref and judges are proper for this fight

Willis is my favorite active ref, but Dock is a good close second. Need more of these guys. I was terrified Kenny would get the fight
Those who know shit about boxing. That’s why he got his ass whupped by Teofino Lopez because he just refused to take any risks and engage.
He chose to fight off the back foot the first seven rounds and lost the fight because of it. Loma is no defensive wizard. You take way his legs then he can’t do shit!
I’ve been thoroughly impressed by Lomachenko over the years, and like others here, find Haney’s jab n grab style to be pedestrian and boring to watch. My heart wants Loma to upset the apple cart, but my brain would never allow me to bet the farm on that happening. A few years ago it might have been different, but Loma has crossed the age threshold. Haney is too young, too big, and too technically sound. As much as we fans hate the Emmanuel Stewart style, it works.
My prediction Haney UD
Then why did he lose to Teo? It’s because he refused to engage and take any risks.
He fought the first seven rounds off the back foot and got his ass whupped! Lopez broke his will just like Haney will do on Saturday.
Sure, I think the most ardent Loma fans accept that assessment of the Lopez fight, but Haney and Lopez are different and Loma most certainly learned from that tactical error anyway. Loma has no real reason to be intimidated by Haney's punching power, so he's not going to fight Haney as cautiously. This is going to be a classic boxing matchup and Loma is the better boxer. Haney wants the fight to go according to his plan, quick starts and stops with an obedient Loma accepting his clinching, but that's not what is going to happen.
This interaction was the clearest and most embarrassing evidence of Haney's insecurity and his clear intention to jab and grab Loma this weekend. The Haney's are pathetically trying to create the narrative that Loma is dirty on the inside because they know full well that Loma is not just going to stay still and allow himself to be hugged all night like GK did. The Haney's know full well that Loma is better than Devin on the inside and they are asking for help before the fight even starts. The referee is going to be a big part of the story of this fight.
