NC - you've picked a draw - so, valid question >>>> !s it the case that if you pick a draw you get 20 points if the result is a close decision - regardless of who wins?

This was one of those muted changes at the beginning of the year just like the change in multiplier rules but because there's no master thread this year there's no way of checking

also I suggest clearig up the contradicting points totals otherwise they'll be pickers claiming a close decision when it maybe wasn't etc

Yes, I know that and I agree. Thats how it's always been - but it was mentioned back in January that to 'reward' pickers of draws, if the fight was a close decision then the draw picker would get 20 points. Oh well, doesn't matter. Good luck with your pick - not a bad one I think. I think Maloney should win and probably the safe pick is a decision as 90% seem to have gone for - but I see a certain wildness and open-ness in Astro that may see him open for a ko punch. But he has youth on his side so he should pick up some rounds too.

DECISION: CLOSE (0-9), CLEAR (10 - 18), WIDE (19+)
-CLOSE is 8 or fewer pts difference, eg 116 - 112, 115 -113 115 - 113 or closer. CLEAR is 9 - 17 pts difference, eg below 117 - 111 on all three cards WIDE is 18 points or over ie an average of 117 -111 or above on all three cards

Ah right, thanks, yeah, missed that. I crunched the numbers at some point last year and shifted it by 1 point to get a more statistically equal division between CLOSE and CLEAR but I can't for the life of me remember which was the original and which was the new one. In any event at this point in the year the only fair choice is to stick with whichever one Tatabanya has been using and then get that changed in the OP accordingly.

Whilst we're on the subject was it you who offered to run up a provisional master thread a while back Steve? If so I think the time has come when I may have to call on your help. I just seem to have some massive block on it and every time I sit down to it just find myself doing other stuff. I'll have one more stab this weekend but if I ain't got something up by Mon Eve it'd be massively appreciated if you'd give it a go cos this has gone on away to long.

I believe we were supposed to change the verbiage on it. I’ve been MIA from a serious wreck racing motorcycles on the track.
