Its about time that Team Benevidez directed their tough talk elsewhere. I'm all for their tough talk re Canelo. Benevidez DESERVES that match. But the tough talk stuff needs to go upward, JUST LIKE Canelo has demonstrated, over years. Suggesting they'd like to challenge the undefeated Beterbiev feels in line with the tough talk, and further to that point, its a monster clash that fans deserve. Ascending mountains is David's next best route given Canelo's obvious taste to look elsewhere. And lets face it, the WBC will lean towards Canelo's favor as opposed to pressing him on any matches. See the current Beterbiev situation as an example (in reverse).
