This fight needs to happen more than any other fight in the heavyweight division; Joshua vs Wilder. i just don't see Fury/Joshua happening anytime soon because Eddie Hearn has no leverage in that fight because at the moment Fury is the WBC heavyweight champion.

don't disagree with your general observations about Joshua but....

specifically about the first Ruiz KD - the reaction to it was an anomaly. He didn't react that way when KD'd down by Wlad - who punches harder, Wlad or Andy?

So why an anomaly? Because Andy's other arm was somehow behind Joshua's neck. Normally the neck will absorb/cushion some of the blow - but because of Andy's arm being there, Joshua's neck couldn't absorb the blow properly. An independent trauma specialist looked at the video and concurred that such a blow would be much more devastating - like a massive whiplash for the brain.

Sat on the stool between rounds Joshua was asking his trainer "whats wrong with me?" - well yeah - doe - you're severely concussed son. And he remained that way for the duration of that fight.

I was really surprised by Joshua's reaction that night against Ruiz, that was a good explanation as to why Joshua acted so out of character in that fight.
You also have to take into consideration that although Ruiz might not hit as hard as Wlad, he throws his punches in combination it's like a piston's coming at you.
When your getting hit by that many punches in rapid fire succession, they have an accumulative effect on anyone, and that also could've been the reason.
Any way you look at it Andy Ruiz really put it on Anthony Joshua that night in the Madison Square Garden Arena, in New York City.
In front of many of Joshua's fan's who had flown in from England to watch Joshua conquer the financial capital of the United States of America.
Except that it didn't turn out that way, because Andy Rat-a-tat-tat Ruiz upset the apple cart, with his piston like punches on that fateful night in the MSG of NYC.

Wilder will knock joshua head off as soon as he touches him once. Ortiz was boxing wilder head off for 2 fights. Fury had to fight perfect for 2 and half fights. And still got touched. Joshua isn't better than both of them in terms of boxing skills and mental fortitude.

Doesn't matter whether AJ outboxes Wilder or not. Most good boxers outbox Wilder until they hit the floor. This is unlikely to go the distance and whosoever connects first and is able to capitalize on it wins. It is a 50-50 fight in my opinion and I do not count anyone out at this point.

Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Lennox Lewis, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Wladimir Klitschko, Tyson Fury, and Joe Frazier are the only heavyweights to come along in the past 50 years who I would favor to beat Deontay Wilder.

Evander Holyfield, Vitali Klitschko, Anthony Joshua, Ken Norton, and Rid**** Bowe would each be knocked out - Easily.

Wilder ALWAYS hits the mark, even against Tyson Fury. Joshua by contrast loses to fringe contenders and Cruiserweights. Not in the same league, those two.
Wilder in Three. Fury demolishes Usyk, and look out for Fury vs. Wilder IV.

That is some outstanding support for an outstanding fighter Hugh, but from my perspective, I just hope that Joshua doesn't get hurt. Seriously. I didn't like the look he had after getting hit with Ruiz Jr's power. Now Ruiz is more polished than Wilder, perhaps, but Wilder isn't just a mammoth puncher...he's also gifted at planting them flush.

Wilder has never fought anybody who hits as hard as AJ and he has never KO'd anybody as good as AJ.

AJ by KO before round 6 is my pick if this fight happens.
