...and hopkins will make the fight if its in the best interest for him and his pimp oscar...so my man they are all in the same hypocrisy...didn't you read my early post? Can't you comprehend? I said two pages ago Hopkins admits in Ring Mag that Jones is shot, but will still fight him if the money is right....repost:

Nardo in Ring mag doing what he does best, contradicting himself:

"I think that's what Roy Jones biggest mistake was, to fight John Ruiz and never try to make that fight with Evander Holyfield. That was his biggest mistake, and his body has been ruined ever since then. You hit him on the chin (smacks his right fist into his left palm) and he's down."

"Yes. I wanted to fight Roy Jones before the Tarver fight, but he's having a rocky relationship with HBO, and they didn't feel that the fight was worthy of buying. Still, I would love to redeem myself, if everything is right. I mean Roy can't come to the table like he's Roy Jones of the early-2000s."

nardo is horrific...he admits that jones is shot, but is clearly willing to redeem himself by fighting him....funny thing is, jones did come to the table like the jones of the early 2000's and got the deal he was looking for, which was an even split with a ko clause, without hopkins pimp oscar de la hoya getting the 25% slice off the top...

    • It's not hypocrisy. The fans made this a meaningful fight. The perception is Hopkins can't deal with speed. Period. They believe this so much so that even a near finished version of Jones is being favored here. It's very disrespectful considering he's beaten all of Jones' conquerors as far as I'm concerned, and isn't being given the benefit of the doubt in a match even now. It actually develops a real incentive for Bernard to take the fight other than for money.

Under normal circumstances, nobody should want this fight.. because Jones has done nada to get back in the mix, but whatever.

it is hypocrisy...they all are doing this to make money...their rematch has been based on ego and $ since hopkins lost the first fight...hopkins problem is, he is NOT a big ppv draw, and needs a big name partner to make a fight...he's ran out of big name smaller men, and jones represents his biggest option right now...jones is shot, and YOU may not think he didn't do anything to warrant a big fight, but he has demonstrated that he can dominate b and c level fighters, and he does have win on nard that he can pimp, he puts asses in the seats and draws ppv #'s, and he got it off...honestly, jones getting ko'd is more exciting than hopkins boring wins any day...

so its real simple...if hopkins can get accolades for beating up on smaller men, then jones can operate how he's operating...its all good in my book...if you don't like it, don't buy the fight and wait to see what happens next...

            • It is not hypocrisy. This fight never happens if it wasn't for that radio interview and the public perception that Hop was scared and that he couldn't beat Roy even now that went along with it.

Now if Hopkins was calling out Roy instead of pursuing the other fights he was talking about like Adamek or the Johnson/Dawson winner, then he'd be contradicting himself. You've got this all twisted and spun into your warped fantasy as usual.

we disagree and i put statements from hopkins mouth as backup...all i got is your woulda coulda shoulda personal opinion as usual....

...i give you my opinion, i say if jones can pimp his win on nardo in '93 into another big money fight for himself, i ain't mad...nard "coulda" made this long overdue rematch ancient history had he took the 40% jones offered him years ago when jones was more relevant and a win "woulda" been the biggest win on his resume....now he just gets to beat up on a shot roy that nobody is gonna give him any credit for, with a 10% increase...read it and weep
