Like the other poster said, due to Bam's injury ideally Sunny and JCM should get it on and Bam fights the winner once he recovers. I can see why JCM wouldn't want to fight Sunny, it's a horrible matchup stylistically for him.
Yeah Bam would box rings around JCM.

I completely agree, that’s the fight to make next.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he's overrated. He jumped up 2 divisions and picked up a title on short notice like a bad ass. It was just over a year ago he made that big leap from a prospect to now he's a 2 division champion. It's not like he was fighter of the year over Bivol or on any p4p lists.

Sunny is gonna give him a tough fight for sure though.

He is 30 years old though. It's not like Sunny is gonna put a career-ending beating on him lol

I just want Sunny to stay active, not wait around.

I’m with you, I’d match him as aggressively as possible.

I just can’t see MR moving him that quickly.

Nah,the praises are well deserved. He's only 23yrs so there's still some improvement to be had for sure but he's still a special fighter.

Faded or not Cuadras and Sor are(were) still 2 dangerous fighters who had never been toyed with like that. Against Israel,on short notice,he came out flat but it was his third fight in 7 months and it showed. Against Christian,he had to play the agressor against a tall, long, sharp, very capable boxer with a tremendous engine add heart. It was inevitable he would take a little punishment trying cut the ring off against Christian whos whole game plan was to stick and move, which he did well.He took more than he(we) would've have liked no doubt but he still got the job done winning 9 of 12 rds. There isn't a boxer alive who hasn't looked less than ordinary a time or 2 in their careers, let alone boxing half the fight with a broken jaw. On to the next...

Inoue must be overrated for taking so long to beat Butler. Canelo and Benavidez must be overrated for taking so long to beat Plant. Guys who are constantly moving are hard to stop. He won at least 8 rounds. He's the youngest two division world champ. What do you want from the kid?

Very few fighters look good against boxers who are always moving. Look how ineffective Casimero was against Rigo. This kind of comment always makes clear who has ring experience and who doesn't. People who are actually in the fight game have a much better understanding of what they're talking about.

Like, "he should have cut the ring off better." Cutting the ring involves diagonal movement to stay close rather than just following them, but then you also have to be able to hit them with something when they touch rope and have to exit out the side. That generally means a looping shot or a hook in boxing, which are shorter ranged shots. If you're the fighter on the short end of the reach, that's much harder to do. Lots of very good fighters end up looking flat trying to walk down fighters who have reach and know how to use it. In fact, there's several P4P luminaries who have looked flat against this style of opponent.

"He should have gotten angles." That requires a stationary opponent who wants to trade or counter. If they move when or before you get in range, you have to reset again. Heck, they even pointed that out in the broadcast.

There's basically only one way to take the legs from a mover, and that's body shots. Bam could have potentially profited from investing way more heavily in the body. Hard to say though, because he did land quite a few and they didn't have much effect. Cristian came in great shape. And he and his coach knew that, but it's easier said than done. Another point which was made by Robert Garcia when they interviewed him mid fight.

There are a couple things he could add to his game. One is hand fighting. One of the HOF guys called that traffic, but basically fencing with lead hand. Helps keep their output lower and gives you more time to react to their movements and more chances to get inside. Another is trying to develop Pacquiao-style explosiveness so he can crash the distance quickly and get in and out faster. But that can be dangerous if they time you coming in (as has happened to Pacquiao), and also comes at the expense of cutting off the ring. Also still much harder to do against the guys who are constantly moving.

But remember, he's 23, and already a two division world champion. What did you accomplish by 23? He's got time to evolve and improve.

Sunny Edwards won’t break Bam’s jaw. I know that much.

You cut the ring off with your feet. Positioning is very important, specifically your front foot placement. You have to be able to move laterally so you can keep your opponent in front of you. It’s also about controlling range and not allowing your opponent to pivot when cornered.

Bam struggles with several of those elements. He comes in a little too straight, that’s what another poster meant by using angles, if you vary your angle of attack it makes it more difficult for your opponent to navigate an escape route.

Roman Gonzalez is very good at it, or at least was at his peak, he’d have no problem dealing with a guy like Christian Gonzalez. Bam is a talented kid but he clearly isn’t at that elite level yet. Not saying he can’t get there but he definitely has some work to do.
