I don't blame Canelo for taking an easy fight after so many were elite but he's wrong to suggest that everyone said he'd walk through Bivol. I didn't hear that at all and a lot of people had Bivol beating Canelo quite easily. I know I did.

You must be the only one cos almost all the usuals on here said it was a cherry pick and a way to avoid Charlo and Benavidez. Those same set now see Bivol as the next best thing since Mayweather who will always beat Canelo. At least we now know that it wasn't a cherry pick cos Bivol surely waxes Charlo and at worst a toss up with Benavidez so Canelo trying to fight him again should be commendable.

Facts and sadly, I see a lot of racial undertone to it. When Floyd was cherry picking and making gazillions, people say he has earned it. At this stage, I would think Canelo has earned it as well. Only fighter u can say he legitimately ducked was GGG by delaying that fight but it wasn't like GGG was chopped liver when he fought him. No doubt in my mind he will fight Benavidez but he already established his schedule (Ryder, Bivol) so I understand understand why he has to change it to placate some haters. All these guys calling him out, if it wasn't for the payday, would they be clamoring for a fight with him, I think not.

He had already won a title at 175 against a weak, old and shot kovalev and it wasn't necessary but he needed a legit reason to duck Benavidez.. which is exactly what he going to do again after he beats the Ryder cherry pick. Not true. I would argue that 90% of fans and media were picking Canelo to beat Bivol (mostly because they didn't know Bivol). Surprisingly, even many supposedly hardcore fans and pro fighters were going with Canelo, largely by KO. Sure, there are plenty of folks on these boards who changed up their story afterward, but going in the vast majority of fans were predicting a dominant Canelo win.

60% of the posters that felt Canelo would beat Bivol came from the Canelo fan club. 30% came from more sophisticated fans that witnessed years of Canelo and his team successfully picking styles and opponents at their point of weakness. Based on past experience they assumed Canelo picked Bivol because Bivol appeared to be a slightly bigger, slower, no pop version of Plant. Personally, I never thought much of Bivol but I went back and watched Bivol's fights and I didn't see the weakness I had expected then knew it was real fight.

That said, I still don't believe Canelo picked Bivol for the challenge. Canelo simply doesn't have a history of great challenges, it's more likely that Canelo picked Bivol because he thought he was the weakest light-heavyweight and underestimated him.

As for Ryder....Ryder is there because he's an easy win. Being mandatory guarantees nothing when it comes to Canelo, Ryder is there for a KO waiting to happen.

Canelo doesn’t have a history of great challenges??? You need to look at when he started out under the age of TWENTY THREE. He fought bizarrely tuff. Now he’s looking to take belts from a very WEAK divisions. Why shouldn’t he? Wouldn’t you?

Canelos weakness concerning Bivol wasn’t the fact he was cherry picking. IT WAS HIS BLIND ARROGANCE. Theirs a point when big men can take your shots with no problem. Canelo has fought boxers and beat them cause they can’t take his shots BUT those boxers landed on him EASILY. Problem was they weren’t the size of Bivol.
Also what most women on here are blinded to is Canelo is OLD now. How do I know? Am I some magical figure? NOPE I can see it in his last 4-5 fights. He gets hit way more than he use too. It’s not magic to see this.
