Yes, he absolutely deserved it! He worked his way into the mandatory position, and then the WBC created a belt out of thin air, so Loma wouldn't have to fight Haney, and fight Teofimo Lopez instead!

They both need each other at this point. Let’s not kid ourselves, Lomachenkos relevancy is not what it was two years ago and his last fight didn’t help him much either. Haney needs a legit name on his resume that’ll hopefully make him relevant with the casual fans and Lomachenko needs to take the belts back to be back on top

I like Haney. Not sure why he get's so much hate. He's always chasing the best fights available, took a super BS deal to get the belts and is now giving Loma a shot after Loma screwed him over a few years back. How old is this MFer? 24? I salute the guy
