Disgraceful ruling that. How are #2 and #5 fighting for an interim champion.

On top of that Ugas just lost to the current champion and Barrios is 1-1 at the weight class and that win came against an unranked fighter.

Barrios is a low B level fighter who lucked out by stumbling into a minor vacant title. Tank cherry picked that title from him and now he is in the business of making faded fighters seem shiny again. No hate for the guy, seems like a decent fellow, it just is what it is.

Barrios is that safe opponent they will match around at PBC. Looks good enough that he might have a chance but can't get over the hump because he is limited. He is the new Jesus Karas Soto.

I think it's too early to compare Barrios to Soto-Karass. Barrios is 27, so he still has time. Karass was a durable journeyman who made for entertaining fights. Who's to say that Barrios will have the same motivation to keep fighting if he keeps losing?

I think its about Ugas getting a comeback fight, he was badly beaten up and may not ever be the same, I don't mind the fight but it shouldn't be for no titles even though interim is nothing much at all.

So many questions. Why an interim? Why these two? And how does fighting Thurman in a non title bout outside the weight class satisfy mandatory obligations? Spence should be stripped, and the next two highest rated contenders (Thurman and Yogas, apparently) given the chance to fight for the vacant belt. WBC must mean "What Bull Chit".
