Rezendis is a heavy handed hitter and Hurd tried to just walk through it bad mistake.

Glad I watched the fight. Very happy for my paisano from Nayarit. Respect to both warriors, both were not willing to back down until the stoppage.Comment

the fact that he pulled it off against an experienced and quite physically imposing former world champion is impressive.
As Manny Robles stated in the press conference, Resendiz lacks an amateur record along with the fact that he only had professional 13 fights against unraked opponents and even received a loss at age 22 quite recently.Last edited by Malvado; 03-05-2023, 02:43 AM.Comment

What's crazy, like Griever0730 pointed out...Hurd started his career out more as a boxer puncher with some defensive awareness. I think the Tony Harrison fight was the first time I saw the pressure fighter version of Swift. I'm not sure he can revert back to his boxing at this stage and he's too shopworn to be effective as a pressure fighter.Comment

I think it all just caught up to him: age, the weight cuts, leaky defense, etc. Those fighters typically have a short shelf life. I don't think he can boil down like he used to without adverse effects and he's taken some punishment.
