Rezendis is a heavy handed hitter and Hurd tried to just walk through it bad mistake.

Glad I watched the fight. Very happy for my paisano from Nayarit. Respect to both warriors, both were not willing to back down until the stoppage.

Even if Hurd was unactive for a year.

the fact that he pulled it off against an experienced and quite physically imposing former world champion is impressive.

As Manny Robles stated in the press conference, Resendiz lacks an amateur record along with the fact that he only had professional 13 fights against unraked opponents and even received a loss at age 22 quite recently.

What happened to Hurd? Did he used to be on Conor Benn's egg diet or what? The man went from P4P King to a bum overnight. Nash out

I think it all just caught up to him: age, the weight cuts, leaky defense, etc. Those fighters typically have a short shelf life. I don't think he can boil down like he used to without adverse effects and he's taken some punishment.

What's crazy, like Griever0730 pointed out...Hurd started his career out more as a boxer puncher with some defensive awareness. I think the Tony Harrison fight was the first time I saw the pressure fighter version of Swift. I'm not sure he can revert back to his boxing at this stage and he's too shopworn to be effective as a pressure fighter.

I guess he has his little hot-streak he can always look back on, but he's probably best off retiring now. Does he beat anybody in the top 20 now? The days of wanting the Hurd vs Charlo fight seem like two lifetimes ago now. Nash out

Looks like PBC has an opponent for 160 Charlo. They should make that fight right away.

I was right there with you. Same goes for Spence. Once Spence starts fighting real jmw's, same fate for him.
