What I gathered from the Bivol and Golovkin III fights is that Canelo might very well be more shot than Jack.

Hahaha bro what is that picture

Basically because everyone better and more accomplished vacated and moved up or lost to someone who did, and Makabu should definitely have taken the L vs Mchunu. That was a Don King special from the start probably with the approval of the WBC at the time when consideration was being given to Canelo vs Makabu. Not saying he was terrible but he was never on the level of a Breidis or Usyk or Gassiev or even Dorticos. The Bellew and Makabu fights made it quite clear that he was limited although a solid engine, decent chin and good power justifiably carried him a long way.

Should have taken the L against Mchunu? He beat the shit out of him and stopped him. And Mchunu was one of the top Crusiers then aswell.

It just seems like clear revisionist history to me in all honesty.

Makabu was definitely considered one of the most dangerous fighters in the division in 2016, if not the most dangerous. Definitely more so than almost all those fighters you listed.

Bellew deserves full credit for that win, big underdog and expected by basically everyone to get brutally knocked out.

Nah I don`t think so. Bivol fight was a reality check. Badou Jack is not on Bivol`s level, but he is too big.

I have a better idea. If Beterbiev wants to be a 2 division champion, he should go for Badou Jack.

It was a solid win and a good performance but nothing special. Makabu was a top 10 guy in the division but he was always very beatable.

Had the WBC ordered say Breidis or Usyk to fight Makabu instead, Bellew could have a much tougher path to a World title. I do think he’s one of the more fortunate champions from this country in recent years.

Bivol is prob a smaller guy than Kovalev. Bivol beat Canelo because of skill not size.

Makabu wasn't just Top 10, he was ranked #1.

Usyk wasn't in the picture then, he hadn't beaten anyone.

                      Bredis the same.

These guys didn't start making waves and beating top 10 opponents until after Bellew and Makabu fought, when Makabu was #1 in the division
