That makes a lot of sense and honestly...I'm here for it. That fight intrigues me, Jack obviously isn't a huge natural cruiser or anything and he is old and faded so I'm not sure which way it goes. Think it would be fun stylistically though, bring it on for September

Badou was huge for this fight ... 210-215 maybe ? ... I say let's do it and make minced meat of Red meat...

I think that's unfair though because at that time Makabu was ranked #1 at Cruiserweight, and was the favourite to win that fight and was considered very dangerous at the time.

Even dropped Bellew heavy and broke his nose.

So I think he deserves full credit for that one.
Same here actually, I think we’ve spoke about it before. I’m an Everton fan myself so I could really relate to Bellew wanting to fight at Goodison.

I do think Bellew had a pretty fraudulent career though. Every title he ever won was vacant, he never beat a defending champion.

The WBC also passed on Durodola, Breidis, Huck and Usyk who were all ranked above Bellew. Breidis and Durodola were instead forced to fight an eliminator whilst the guy ranked #6 somehow got selected for the vacant title shot. Matchroom definitely bought him that WBC title shot.

Makabu was always the weak link at Cruiser, and yeah - not saying it will happen, but I defo had the same thought about Canelo fighting Badou and it wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah I don’t think he’ll have a more favourable scenario to grab a belt at Cruiserweight. Jack essentially ticks all the boxes in terms of size, age, power and name value.

I agree for sure in regards to the title shot but the actual performance and win definitely deserves credit albeit a vacant title. Makabu was ranked #1, right or wrong.

Oh yeah. It's Canelo's golden chance to get a CW title. Jack is ancient, blown up SMW who has been through several wars. He's made for Canelo in Sep.

It's pretty sad when fans see "The face of boxing" taking on a damn near 40 year old to get a belt. See the rep you've built for yourself, Canelo?
