I was talking about him being the weakest titlist at cruiser at the time a Canelo fight was being suggested - iie 2021/2 so I guess were talking at cross purposes, but even back in 2015/6 he was considered more of a dangerous contender than one of the divisions elite as I recall it.

To my mind his best wins are probably Mchunu 1 and that Polish dude he fought in the temporary ring - ah yeah Ciieslek or however you spell it. He's had a solid career but never beat a top ranked guy despite the title.

Oh in that case I agree, but that's more so because Makabu is quite a way passed it now compared to the 2015 version but yeah I agree there before Saturday he was the weak link.

Jack is a tough fight at Cruiser but Canelo has nothing to lose there in reality because he has a great built in excuse with the weight plus Jack is beatable and there is no risk of getting sent to hospital like with the Mexican Monster. I think he fights Jack lol.

Exactly, Jack already has an accomplished career behind him and the street cred of being a 3 division titlist.

Whilst Benavidez has 1 signature win and still has a lot of fights ahead of him.

When Jack beat Makabu back when, I figured Canelo was kicking himself for not taking the Makabu fight post-Plant. Jack is right where Canelo typically likes his opposition to be, so don’t be shocked if this fight happens.
