He would have two defeats in a row against Bivol without even the benefit of saying he overreached by going up in weight, he'd have no belts, and he'd have no rematch clause left. If Bivol loses at 168, he still has his belt, the first victory, AND the excuse that he was weight drained, as well as the opportunity for a trilogy.

In contrast, if Canelo wins at 168, he only gets a tainted victory, that will be besmirched by people saying that it only happened because he forced Bivol down to a lower weight. He gets no belts, no addition to his legacy, and he's still out the rematch clause, and he'll always have to wonder if he could have beaten Bivol at 175.
