Its a shame, because Canelo really is a great fighter; but between making his name fighting guys past their prime, the constantly sketchy scorecards, and the PED bust I just don't know what to make of him.
Luckily, history has a way of forgetting lots of things. I am sure 20 years from now they will just revere him for the record and not dig deeper into the how and why.Comment

He won the last fight 10-2 or 11-1 and all three judges scored it 7-5
Canelo throws a flurry in the late rounds that gets blocked on Bivols gloves and it would have been a draw.Comment

Sneaky Eddie wants Clenelo vs Bivol at 168 so Bivol can whoop him again and keep all the SMW belts on Dazn. Well played sneaky Eddie.Comment

Sorry to inform you Mr Dylan but Showtime boxing isn't going anywhere. It will just transition into Showtime boxing on Paramount+. Sorry but your wish of PBC fighters going to dazn and completing the American takeover is just a dream. Sorry little buddyRyder is actually 2nd ranked on boxrec at 168. Now you could argue that;s just because the likes of Benevidez and Plant never fight but that's hardly Ryders fault .. Canelo cleaned out the 168 so unless someone new comes along who's willing to take a fight or Bivol drops to 168 he's always going to be short of opposition. Credit to Ryder if he's willing to go to Mexico for a fight.
Maybe Showtime getting out of boxing with the recent changes will lead to some of the soon to be ex PBC fighters picking up the pace like .. Benevidez vs Plant that should have happened years ago.Comment

It was sad to see Golovkin just turning up for a pay check. No real desire to win the fight, unlike in fight 2 for example, when in my view, he won it down the stretch. Nash outComment

You’re missing my point: Canelo’s last fight wasn’t against Bivol, it was against GGG and the clear decline in Canelo’s ability - his poor endurance and diminished power - were so obvious that it’s far less likely that he can rely on bad judging in the future. Don’t forget that even though Canelo pretty clearly beat GGG, two of the scorecards only had him winning 7 rounds to 5 - which suggests his supposed aura and influence over judges isn’t all that anymore.
So, yes, it’s not Impossible that Bivol could get robbed by judges fighting Canelo at 168, it’s not nearly as
likely to happen as paranoid fans might think.Last edited by Roj; 02-03-2023, 02:51 PM.Comment

This fight is not a formality for Canelo as everyone is thinking. Ryder is more game than Billy Joe Saunders and brings that southpaw style. Lets not forget Ryder unofficially beat Callum Smith. Judging by how Canelo performed in his last 2 fights and the fact that he is almost certainly now within the onset of athletic decline I would not rule out Ryder shocking him.Comment
