Greg Haugen was as skilled as they come at 135....Dude beat Paz(Twice IMO), Camacho, Mancini and only lost to ATGs in his prime

Hated to see him slapped around like that but he had nothing for Chavez even in his heyday and by the time that fight happened he was well on the slide. I remember him making the Mexican crowd cross with “born in the USA” as his ring walk lol
Haugen is underrated, honestly the one of the best LW's of the 80s....I wonder how a fight between him and Billy Costello would have went?

Ryder is the mando. It doesn’t matter who he fought.

Ryder may be wise to add John H.Stracey to his team if this fight's in Mexico.

Canelo does not need to waste his time fighting bums to keep a belt at this stage of his career. He does not need belts.

He’s coming off surgery as well. A mando is perfectly acceptable.

I stand corrected! You are right. I just reviewed his boxing record. He fought everyone but Chavez tough. I guess I was overly influenced by the brutal beatdown and humiliation JC Chavez administered to him in Mexico City. Your comment jogged my memory. His fights with Paz and Macho Camacho were classic.

I suspect as much as anything he wants to see how the hand surgery responds in the boxing match. He might also relish the idea of being undisputed and would rather lose the belt in the ring than have it stripped from him for not fighting a mandatory.
