If Wilder showed the boxing ability he did in the first Stiverne fight....Ruiz would be easy work....

Andy waited too much, struggled to close the distance, and didn't land effective shots in the second fight with AJ.
Wilder, a more mobile fighter with better reflexes, would have a wonderful time using the plodding Andy as target practice for his right hand.

I honestly feel if Wilder does not take the Ruiz fight AJ will not give him the end of year fight and will fight Hergovic. First AJ is A-side and Wilder needs to earn that shot, second AJ needs to have something to assess Wilder on, right now AJ has nothing to assess how good Wilder is. Fury will never fight Wilder again, Usyk has never talked about Wilder and will be mandated to fight Joyce, Usyk has said maintaining weight is taking a toll on his body and I think may end his career with a home fight against a cruiserweight champ. Honestly Wilder should just retire if he thinks Ruiz is not easy "business".

Stylistically Wilder can beat Ruiz Junior multiple ways. I think his Jab and the threat of his power will cause Ruiz Junior issues'. Just those two things, will have a effect on how Ruiz Junior fights in my opinion.
But it will be a competitive fight, both fighters possibly being decked and hurt numerous times.
Ruiz Junior is going to be in the danger zone all night. Ruiz Junior has a solid inside game, but? I don't think he has shown the closing speed, or the ability to cut the ring off and use educated pressure 'Not at a very high level'. And this may be were Wilder capitalizes with his power and aggression.
You have to close down the range vs Wilder. Because his punching power and offense is less effective, when it is forced to operate at a short range.
It is still a very close fight, because Wilder skill for skill technically is not a elite level fighter. So there may be moments of calamity, and unforced errors which Ruiz Junior can exploit.
But currently right now, I would make Wilder the slight favorite etc.

I think ruiz wins if I was to pick fight now. Wilder might need a few more wins to regain confidence after 2 ko losses. Once ruiz starts nailing him, wilder will get flashbacks. But
Wilder is the one proven to lose by kos, and with 2 spiteful punchers id pick ruiz to come out victoriousLast edited by hugh grant; 01-25-2023, 08:40 PM.

Oh.. Andy has enough to floor Wilder and vice versa.
Really depends on how well-prepared each one of them shows up and how well they execute their plans. Andy's fast hand combinations especially to the temple are going to trouble Wilder and Andy's lack of footwork is going to trouble him.
