Wilder and Wallin would have been to much for AJ, not to mention JJ. Perhaps Hrgovich or Zhang but also them could pose a threat. Franklin has been tested by the B guy alrrady so that's fine.

Hearn is really doing Joshua a disservice of feeding him a low tier fighter that has nothing in his repertoire that will allow AJ to improve or work on his technical goals for future fights like Fury, Wilder, Joyce, or Usyk. Fast Eddie is more concerned with continuing to inflate his pockets and the public perception of his main heavyweight draw with KOs over futile opposition. Its also a terrible idea to stay inactive for over 8 months after a loss with limited damage, it can't be good psychologically for Joshua to sit an mull over something he can only change by getting back in the ring.

This is a confidence-building comeback fight, not necessarily a skill polishing fight. Well, it may be an opportunity for Joshua to experiment with some new things, but you don't do that with a top contender, which Franklin is not.

Franklin is very low tier .Whyte struggled to beat him and they are selling it on that but consider this , in his previous Whyte fought Tyson and he never won a round and was KO'd very quick.Two fights before that Whyte was again KO'd by an old now retired Povetkin. I don't care for Franklin being used just to make Joshua look good and after his decent last performance Joshua should be building on it not going backwards but it seems his head has gone. So here we have it for all the Joshua diehards , a brutal KO of a guy who's just coming as a victim then a summer 'big' fight with Whyte at Wembley enjoy!! ... I have no real problem with Franklin considering Joshua's state of mind but the level he talks about achieving , winning a third world title I find it difficult to see that we are not being stuffed again here. Joshua v Franklin then Joyce, Wilder or Fury to show you mean business please.
Otherwise it's clearly another money making con and hasn't Joshua got enough in the bank already!
